Highlanders vs. Menace 2 Sobriety - The newspaper article said this was to be a defensive battle. Both pitchers are known for their stellar skills at the mound. It was Menace 2 Sobriety who struck first with a 2 RBI home run by Brett Tulippe that menaced a 2-0 lead. This was then followed by a Ross Elder home run in the bottom of the 4th. Highlanders answered with one run of their own in the 4th, to make it a 3-1 game, and that was the score going into the 7th. In the 7th inning, the Highlanders put on their rally caps and generated the base runners to take the lead but were only able to squeeze in one run, and Menace ended up with the W. Menace 2 Sobriety wins 3-2.
Not in the Face vs. Backdoor Ohoolihans - Not in the Face proved in Week 2 to be balanced on both sides of the ball with excellent defense, strategic ball placement and aggressive base running. Zach Willett of Not in the Face smacked a lead-off home run in the top of the 2nd inning to take a 1-0 lead. Both teams went on lock-down defense for 3 innings, holding each other scoreless. It was finally in the top of the 6th inning when Not in the Face turned it on with a 2-run single from Kyle Johnson, followed by a sack-fly by Spencer Loomis to take a commanding 4-0 lead going into the final inning. After being shut-out for 6 innings, Backdoor's Steve "Not on the Roster" Bland (#whenareyougoingtosignup??) had had enough and slammed a solo shot of his own to avoid the shut-out. Unfortunately, that's all the solo shot did, as Not in the Face wins 4-1.
