Flint Tropics (Pink) vs. Florida Mike
and the Free Ballers (Purple): With
one week left in the season and the Flint Tropics soaring through each game it
looks like they will stand undefeated for the fall season. Lots of running in
the bottom of the first left them with a 5-run lead. A repeat of this exact
thing in the bottom of the second gave them a 10-run lead. Prior Oiler Captain
Garrett Dean not only got on base but had a grand slam in the bottom of the
first, Monika Gomez had a 1 run double in the bottom of the third and Matt
Kelly had two 2 run homers in the bottom of the second and again in the bottom
of the sixth. Flint Tropics will be sailing into their final week. Florida Mike
and the Freeballers struggled throughout the game and were only able to slow
down their opponents momentum in the last few innings. Additionally, they were
only able to get 1 run on the scoreboard. Hopefully week 7 fairs a bit better
for them! Flint Tropics Win 16-1.

Team
America (Red) vs. 99 PROBLEMS BUT MY KICK AIN’T ONE (Neon Orange): What a game that really had everyone on the edge of
their chairs and heels for the entire game. Runs were scored in almost every
inning make it a fast paced game with twists and turns hidden in every play.
Team America had some stellar plays to include Tom Shannon’s triple in the
bottom of the second, Captain Allen Stefanik and Right Fielder jiving in the
top of the third where the ball bounced off the Right Fielder and straight to
Allen at second base for a catch and out. Tom was back at it in the bottom of
the fourth with a screaming double followed by Kris Culbertson’s double play in
the top of the sixth. Red
lights were blaring throughout the
game, but 99 PROBLEMS BUT MY KICK AIN’T ONE also had some stand out plays
reserving most of the them for the top of the 7th and giving Team
America a last inning panic with letting 6 runs in. Nick Whitworth had a 2 run
double, followed by Lacy “Handsy” Hamel’s 2 run double and rounded out by
Crystal “hard leg” Harvey’s 2 run triple. All in all both teams brought the
energy needed to hold each other back while still staying warm in the dewey
evening. Team America Ties 99 PROBLEMS
BUT MY KICK AIN’T ONE 12-12.

Mighty
Fightin Narwhals (Tropical Blue) vs. Kickin Grass and Takin Names (Forest
Green): Second closest game of the
night goes to these two teams. The Mighty Fightin Narwhals put up a fight the
entire game and had the lead for a few innings. Chad Cheshire started his team
off on the right foot offensively with a triple in the top of the first. Ben
Schisler brought the energy on the defensive side with a phenomenal diving catch in the bottom of the
second. Kickin Grass and Takin Names were pulling from behind the entire game
until the last few innings where it was a tied game. With almost an entire
season behind them, green was extremely strategic when it came to the defensive
game. Key players like Kyle “strong arm” Oldham were needed for solid plays
like throwing a guy out from first in the top of the third. In the end they
were able to pull out a single run in the final inning that won them the game. Kickin Grass and Takin Names Win 10-9.

Ballz n Dollz (Indigo Blue) vs. Forney Sparks (Irish Green): With slippery fields both of these teams got a
bit of slip and slidin’ in their plays. Forney Sparks had a few memorable plays
to include a diving catch by Captain Jimmy Hebblen in the bottom of the first.
He also had a stellar double play in the bottom of the third. I think everyone
is wondering what team Jimmy will be playing for come the Spring season. Ballz
n Dollz found their groove and ran and scored with it all night long. Some of
their team highlights include a 2 run home run by Mike “Soccer Leg” Peffer in
the bottom of the second followed by Captain Jeremy Glanzer’s triple in the
bottom of the third. Jeremy had another great round at bat with a 3 run home
run in the bottom of the fifth. A battle of the captains definitely ensued. Ballz n Dollz win 32-5.
