Memorial Ball Park - Week 4 Highlights

Basic Pitches vs Jiminy Kick It:

BP and JKI came into this midseason game looking ready for the playoffs now. BP struck early and often, putting JKI on ice in the 1st with a 3 run inning. JKI was a person down in this extravaganza and it showed, as BP was able to set them down 1-2-3. BP went back on an aerial assault, dropping bombs into left and right field for a 4 run burst. JKI stayed the course though, as they were able to get runners into scoring position, but were unable to convert. BP wanted to put the game out of reach early as another run came home in the 3rd to solidify their lead to 8. JKI wasn’t going to go down without a fight, but BP proved to be too much on this night, as BP was able to hang on for the shutout. Basic Pitches wins, 8-0

Blue Balls V vs: Brews on First:

BOF was coming into the week ready to get a playoff push, but BBV came as the virus known as Ebola. Ebola hit BOF early, scoring 1 in the top of the 1st. BOF wasn’t going to let Ebola ruin their spirits, but were unsuccessful as they were shut down 1-2-3 in the 1st. Ebola really hit BOF hard in the 2nd, and with the assistance of a 2 run triple, brought home 4 to go up 5-0. BOF stayed persistent, but were unsuccessful in bringing home any runs. Ebola struck home 3 more in the 3rd and 1 in the 4th to go up 9-0. Top 5, Ebola put the finishing touches on the game, as 2 more runs in the 5th proved to be the dagger in the game, as BOF wasn’t able to muster any offense this game. Blue Balls V wins 11-0.

Hashtag Balls vs Bazinga:

In a rematch from the title game seasons ago, this game was a good measuring stick for how each team stacked up. #Balls got on the board early scoring 1 in the 1st and putting Bazinga in a very unfamiliar trailing position. #Balls struck again in the 2nd, going up 2-0. Bazinga wasn’t happy with their position, and decided to take charge of the situation scoring 3 to go up by 1. Bazinga was ready to blow the game out of the water, and did so blasting home 5 more runs and holding off #Balls on offense to go up 8-2. The rest of the way, neither team was able to score any more runs showing that both teams’ defenses are ready for the playoffs. Bazinga wins, 8-2

KickBallers vs Left Shark:

KB and LS came into the nightcap game pushing for playoff seed supremacy. KB stayed off the board in the 1st, but Alex Moorhead for LS blasted a HR deep to left center to go up 1-0. KB wasn’t too thrilled, and retaliated with a run of their own in the 2nd to knot up the game at 1. Top 3, and Adam Hills blasts an RBI double to center to give KB a 1 run lead. Top 4, and Alex Moorhead was up to his all-out effort, as a diving catch at the pitcher’s mound ended the 4th from KB from doing any more damage than the 1 run. Left Shark simply had no answers for KB’s defense, as they weren’t able to score any more runs against the KickBallers.  KickBallers wins, 4-1
