Ballz n Dollz (Lime) vs. Freeballers (Purple):
This game was all about the defensive showstoppers! The catcher Bri “Balls to
the Walls” Beans from Ballz n Dollz put on a clinic by catching foul balls all
over the place in addition to making an impressive out at home plate after an
outfield relay from Tasha Brewer and Phillip Alvarado. For the Freeballers, the
pitcher Brent “Blue Jeans” Behler was the undisputed MVP by pitching a shutout
while displaying his all-around defensive skills. In the end, Behler was too
much for Beans and company to overcome. Freeballers win 2-0.

Oilers (Violet) vs. Kickin
Grass and Takin Names (Carolina Blue):
In
this matchup of the week, the excitement never stopped! Adam “The Iron Horse”
Morse from the Oilers started things off with a diving catch as pitcher in the
bottom of the 1st inning. But then Cavin Shepard from Kickin Grass
and Takin Names came through with a triple and a run scored in the bottom of
the 2nd inning to tie things up 1-1. Morse responded in the bottom
of the 3rd with a three-up-three down inning for the Oiler’s
defense. Then came David Smith’s homer in the top of the 4th for the
Oilers to reclaim the lead!!! However, Brady Andersen from Kickin Grass and
Takin Names would not be denied in the bottom of the 4th as he
scored the tying run with some impressive base-running. Kickin Grass and Takin
Names continued their momentum in the bottom of the 5th as they
added two scores and then Joshua Devine held off the Oilers with his wide array
of pitches through the final two innings. What a game! Kickin Grass and Takin Names wins 4-3.

Where My Pitches At (Cardinal Red) vs.
Kicktease (Neon Orange):
Where My
Pitches At jumped out to an early lead in this one by scoring in the 1st
and 2nd innings, then Ian Gillette knocked in a double to take a 3-1
lead in the top of the 4th. However, Kicktease never gave in as they
tied up the game in the bottom of the 4th! Then pitcher Alan Blue
from Where My Pitches At stepped up his game and said, “I am going to win this
game single-handedly!” Not only did he hold the lead for his team, but Blue
also turned a key double play to ice the game! Where My Pitches At wins 5-4.

Benny THE JET Rodriguezes (Navy) vs. RiKickulous (Neon Yellow):
Talk about neck-and-neck! RiKickulous took an
early lead after the 1st inning, but then the tide turned in the
bottom of the 2nd inning as Trent Darrough, the catcher for Benny
THE JET Rodriguezes, caught a ball off his own chest for a key out. Benny THE
JET Rodriguezes would go on to take a 2-1 lead in the bottom of the 2nd,
then tried to hold on for dear life. RiKickulous was able to tie up the game
though, and so we headed to the bottom of the 7th inning with the
game on the line… Kellie Ash from the Benny THE JET Rodriguezes came through
with a super clutch walk-off single to win the game!!! See the highlight here! Benny THE JET Rodriguezes wins 4-3.

Kickin Grass and Takin Names (Carolina
Blue) vs. Lunchbox Violators (Neon Orange):
Kickin Grass and Takin Names was off to a great start until Kyle “Old
Man” Oldham swung for the fences unnecessarily and ended the top of the 1st
inning for his team. The Lunchbox Violators would follow up with a 1-2-3 and
out inning in the bottom of the 2nd inning and a key double play in
the bottom of the 3rd inning. Oldham would redeem himself though in
the bottom of the 4th by scoring a run, which then set up the
momentum for Joshua “The Diviner” Devine’s two-run RBI in the bottom of the 5th.
Of course, Devine was thrown out on the next play by a stellar fake-out by
throw from the Lunchbox Violators… Talk about being violated! Kickin Grass and Takin Names wins 13-2.

Flint Tropics (Tropical Blue) vs. Merican Made (Texas
Orange):
The
Flint Tropics took an early 1-0 lead after the top of the 2nd
inning, and just when it looked like Merican Made was going to tie up the game
in the bottom of the 2nd, Emily Mitchell from the Flint Tropics
turned a double play all by herself at 2nd base to end the scoring
threat. The MVP though had to be the captain for the Flint Tropics, Matt Kelly,
whose pitching performance continually befuddled and confused the kickers on
Merican Made. Kelly commented after the game, “Just like any good athlete,
repetition is key. Everyday I get in at least 100 pitches, and those long
practice sessions are starting to really pay off.” Flint Tropics win 2-0.
