Wednesday - Cuernavaca Park - Week 4 Highlights

Put It In The Bunt vs. Step Parents:

It all started with a 2 RBI smackaroo from "fill in Phil," and Bunt came out early in this one recording 5 runs in 2 innings of play.  In the top of the 4th inning Bunt was threatening to score again but Chris Loupee thwarted their efforts with a great unassisted double-play..this great play seemed to energize the Step Parents as they turned it up!  Jeremy Wagner started the comeback in the bottom of the 5th inning with an RBI single and later scored at the expense of Bunt's eager throwing spectacle.   This throwing spectacle continued in the next inning and before we knew it, we had a 7-5 ball game and people were beginning to think Step Parents might have a chance here, but Bunt refocused and shut down the 7th...Put It In The Bunt wins 7-5.

Punani Patrol vs. Pitches Be Crazy:

Andrew Rohr started this one out in the top of the 1st inning with fancy foot work...kicked a slow roller down the 3rd baseline for an infield single but then decided to stretch it to second once the throw attempt was made to 1st.  There he found himself in a situation where he was able to dodge the throw made at him and then make it all the way home for the score...have we learned to throw to the base vs. throwing at the person yet?  Trust yo teammates to make the play!!  The play of the day came from James Lee (check it out here), who robbed PP of a homer with a "David Tyree" type catch in right field...truly amazing James...nice work!!  PBC's Paul Everton came back this week for a web redemption where he faked us out again!!  Acting as though he was going to kick it multiple times and then pulling up at the last second truly showed us this was no web redemption...he was simply just messing with us!!  Paul kicked an infield single, however the ref robbed him of it and called him out at 1st...possibly he was just too confused from all the fakery!!  Punani had 3 innings where they scored a total of 10 runs thanks to a Chris House 2 run double, a "Frothy the Snowman" solo shot, and the amazing endurance of Kelsey Rosinski not only smacking RBI singles but also pinch running all night...we were gassed just watching her!!  PP ended two innings with double plays including the last one, however PBC still recorded their token 1 run and we consider that a win for PBC...gotta get 1 before we go drinking!!  Punani Patrol wins 11-1.
