Memorial Ball Park - Week 6 Highlights

Bazinga vs. Pitches Be Crazy: Both teams came into this week looking to exact their power against each other before the playoffs. Bazinga got out to a hot start as they were able to drive home 2 in the top of the 1st. PBC was looking to counterstrike but were taken out by the Bazinga defense. Bazinga looked to put the game out of reach early and often, blasting home 5 to build their lead to 7. Anything PBC tried against Bazinga was simply getting stopped this week, as they weren't able to convert any offense through 4 innings, while Bazinga added 1 in the 3rd and 2 in the 4th to go up 10. Bazinga wouldn't let off the gas pedal as another 2 come barreling home to get up to 12. PBC found a soft spot in Bazinga's defense, and broke up the shutout. Keith Hassan for Bazinga came through in the clutch and put the icing on the cake with a 3 run blast to center to go up by 14. Bazinga would convert 1 more in the 7th, effectively ending the contest. Bazinga wins, 16–1

Jiminy Kick It vs. Kickballers: JKI was looking to bolster their team for a playoff push and KB wanted to add another win onto their resume. Both teams came out defensively stout, as neither team was afforded a run through 2 innings. Bottom 3, and KB converts on a short drop in left to break up the scoreless affair. JKI would answer right back with a run of their own in the top of the 4th to tie the game up at 1. Both teams went back to their defense to hold their other team off the base path. We go to the top of the 7th, and JKI has their hopes come to fruition as they drive home what would be the game winning run on a blast to center field. Jiminy Kick It wins, 2-1

Blue Balls V vs. Hashtag Balls: Both teams were looking to tune their teams for another potential title run. #Balls would get on top early, as an impressive BBV defense allowed 2 early runs in the 1st. BBV would throw their heavy hitters up to bat, and #Balls didn't flinch, going 1-2-3 in the inning. #Balls went back to work in the 2nd, driving home 2 more runs in the 2nd to establish a 4 run lead. BBV made some defensive changes and they worked brilliantly, as they shut down #Balls in the 3rd. A double down the left field line in the 4th put BBV on the board and put pressure on the # defense. Both teams showed they were ready on defense, as both teams were held off the board in the 5th. #Balls would put an exclamation point on the game with 1 more run in the 6th and putting the game out of reach. Hashtag Balls wins, 5-1

Brews on First vs Basic Pitches: BOF was looking to bolster their team against a very solid team in BP. BOF would get on the board early with 3 in the 1st, stunning the BP defense. BP would return fire with 1 of their own to stay with in 2. BP would tweak their defense and it paid massive dividends, as they were able to hold BOF off the scoreboard often. BP would convert defensive prowess into offensive power, as they tied the game up in the 2nd. BP wouldn't be denied on offense as they'd blast home 2 in the 3rd and 4th to go up 7-3. BOF attempted to duplicate their offense from the 1st, but it was too much BP defense and they were denied. BP would blast the doors open in the 5th, cruising around the bases for 6 more runs. BP would add 1 in the 6th to go up 11. BOF was able to get on and score in the 7th, but the BP defense wouldn't allow a Cinderella run. Basic Pitches win, 14-4
