Bazinga vs Ballsagna: Bazinga came into
the new season as the reigning defending state champs but not the city champs
(how bout that)!! Ballsagna was looking
to put an end to the parade on the week 1 contest. Bazinga would strike early
as a 3 run shot from Keith Hausam put Bazinga up 3-0 in the top of the 1st.
Matt Howes was on the mound to start out the game and closed out the Ballsagna
offense 1-2-3. Bazinga would be held to 1 run in the 2nd thanks to a double
play to end a bases loaded jam. Ballsagna would get on the board with a bloop
single RBI in the bottom of the 2nd to make it a 4-1 game. However Bazinga
would answer back with 4 runs in the 3rd to go up 8-1, and would stay that way
through 4. Bazinga racked up another 4 in the top of the 5th and from there we
got hit by the weather. Bazinga wins 12 -1.
HeadShots Should Count vs Kick Tease:
Both teams came to the field ready for a rough and tumble season opener. Neither team was able to get on the board in
the 1st which showed both teams meant business!! HSSC would get on the board early in the
bottom of the 2nd with an RBI double and from there the magic started
happening!! KT wouldnt be silenced and
in the 4th inning, they would bounce back with 2 of their own to go up by one
run!! The KT chants were starting to
come full force and momentum was in their favor! However, HSSC stayed resilient and in the
bottom of the 5th tied the game on a bang bang play at home. BANG BANG!!
In the Top of the 7th with the game tied, HSSC scored the go ahead run
with a SAC RBI to center…for those of you trying to win in kickball…SAC fly’s
are the number one way to do it!! In the
bottom of the 7th KT would get batters on 1st and 2nd with no outs, but a pop
out at the pitchers mound, some running mishaps, and HSSC pulling out the
rarest of plays – a game ending triple play, KT couldn’t get a score in. Congrats to HSSC for pulling off a season
opening triple play!!! HeadShots Should Count wins, 3-2
