Banzai Lightning vs.
Team GRIT:
We’ll always know where the Banzai crew is due to their “firefly
like” colored shirts!! On top of that,
teams will definitely get to know them if this type of scoring keeps up…we’ll
see them buzzing around the bases quite often!
No one was more frustrated than Ashley Reasner for GRIT, as she let us
all know inning after inning that Banzai kept missing the bases (not really,
but seriously, but no not really), however, ya gotta try anything when a team
is scoring at will!! Banzai was the
highest scoring team of the night (outside of Cup In Hand play), so well see
how they fare against Put It In The Bunt this week. Team GRIT started out the bottom of the 2nd
inning getting the bases loaded but was stymied by the lock down Banzai D and
weren’t able to record a run. In the top
of the 3rd inning, Banzai Firefly was on a scoring rally and Muki Matsiga put a
stop to it by making an amazing throw from right center to hit the runner going
to 2nd…now that’s a great play nominee!
Ok, ok Banzai…we know your team name, don’t be mad at us…Banzai
Lightning has put their footprint on Wednesday Cuernavaca, but we’ll see what
happens next week! Banzai Lightning wins 18-1.
Punani Patrol vs.
Step Parents:
Fans, managers, and referee’s were nervous in this one to
start as Punani’s Andrew Rohr came into this matchup with flavorful amount of
liquid courage…this guy doesn’t need anymore courage…we were all shaking in our
tennies and the referee almost gave him a flagrant 1 foul! Wait, have we been watching too much of the
NBA Finals…you can see his shenanigans here!
Scott Klien for Punani put his crew on the board in the top of the 1st
inning with an RBI Single. In the bottom
of the 3rd inning Step Parents’ Jeremy Wagner tied the game up with a solo
blast!! He may have been able to score
twice!! Step Parents had another
opportunity to score again, but Punani made an unbelievable relay from left
field that included the left fielder kicking the ball in (normally never works)
along with 3 other players to get the player at the plate…truly
impressive! From there, Punani turned on
the afterburners with RBI singles from Kelsey, Andrew, Jeff, and Steph along
with a SAC from Tony Lusk and in a matter of 3 innings Punani had scored 9
runs…we’re putting this group at the top of the list barring they show up
consistently as a group! They’ll have
the game of the week next week…. can’t wait to see the outcome! Punani
Patrol wins 10–1.
Your Pitch Makes My
Kick Hard vs. Don’t Stop Ballieving:
The ladies dominated this game defensively, but then again,
don’t they always! Shortstop, Julia
Ingall for Your Pitch made an unbelievable line drive snag in the bottom of the
1st inning that made us all start believing that Don’t Stop Ballieving didn’t
have a chance in this one…now that was tuff to write…kinda confused myself now! Anyway…Don’t Stop’s Jenna Huelskamp kept Your
Pitch from scoring more in the top of the 3rd inning by grabbing a liner at 2nd
and throwing to 1st to get the runner not even thinking of tagging – he didn’t
give you a chance Jenna, nice catch…gotta RESPECT those gals! Then in the next inning, 2nd basewoman
Rayleigh Boles for Your Pitch made every single out of the inning…HEY, don’t
kick it to that gal!!! Nice job
Rayleigh! Going into the bottom of the
6th inning, Your Pitch had a 4-2 lead with Don’t Stop up to bat. Don’t Stop Ballieving (we would never), went
on to score 4 in the bottom of the 6th, thanks in part to Zac Vidlocks
right-center gap shot that scored the last 2 to take the lead…talk about clutch
Zac!! Don’t Stop closed out the top of
the 7th with lockdown D and the comeback victory was completed! Don’t
Stop Ballieving wins 6-4.
Dice vs. Put It In
The Bunt:
For those trying to compete in kickball, let’s introduce the
SAC fly!! It is one of the most
effective ways for scoring in kickball and Dice does it 1st by getting runners on base and in position then Justin (coach)
gives the signal – indicator is left ear lobe then left arm sleeve, right arm
sleeve, top chest drag, direction point for where he wants the ball to go, and
clap – but that was just this past week!!
You won’t know the signal this week!!
SAC fly’s by Ben Henrick and Chris Allard would have won this game
however, Chris Allard also had an RBI Triple and John Graffam had 2 RBI
singles. Well that only equals 5 so
somewhere in that mix Dice recorded 2 more runs! While Dice has the #1 defense in Colorado and
this is a craft that has taken many years to harness, following their offensive
strategy is something everyone can do with the right direction. Put It In The Bunt is an awesome team that
few can beat and only with discipline could you…Dice has a proven methodology
that many don’t want to reach, but could you??
Dice wins 7-0.
