Put It In The Bunt vs. Step Parents: It was a beautiful day for kickball (haven't said that much this year) and a great day to go back to fundamentals. Our first game to start the night was scoreless for the first two innings as both teams were on lockdown defensively and we knew it wasn't going to be an easy "W" for either team. The defense for SP wasn't broke until right-fielder, Michelle Stanford, of PIITB, showed off her well placed kicking skills with an RBI bringing in the first run of the inning and first blood...nice work Michelle. Unfortunately for SP, the runs kept trickling in 1-run at a time over the next couple innings just like nails in a coffin and you know it's hard to get out of the coffin!! PIITB's own Michael Gebhardt from right field put the final nail in with a RBI in the 6th to end the scoring for the game. David Bayouth threw in his hat for best pitcher in the league with an impressive shut out against the high-powered Step Parent attack. All in all, the game was great simply because the teams colors were Orange and Blue and we all know what that means. GO Broncos! Put It In The Bunt Wins 4-0.

Don't Stop Ballieving vs. Team Grit: This was round 2 of this matchup and these guys and gals came out to play!! This game came down to the wire and it was going to take all seven innings to find the winner!!! Now that's how we like it! This game was filled with more defensive highlights than we knew what to do with!! Patrick Homans from Grit showed his defensive skills in the 2nd by getting all three outs himself to stop DSB from having a chance to score. However, Don't Stop DID start scoring in the 3rd plating 1, and came back in the 4th with another 2 to take a commanding 3-0 lead. DSB would've had more opportunity to increase the lead but Team Grit's 3rd basemen, Ben "Arenado" Robbins, show cased the strength of his gun by throwing out 4 people in the game, which definitely earned him the Golden Glove nod from us...see his seasons highlights here!! Grit started a late rally in the 6th when they brought 2 across to make it a 3-2 game and we had ourselves a nail biter! Grit was looking to tie it up with another score but DSB's first baseman, Dan Kessenich, made his "Arenado" mark with an amazing high jump catch to end the 6th and stop Grit's chance of scoring a run. From there DSB shut out Team Grit and that was all she wrote. Don't Stop Ballieving Wins 3-2.

Banzai Lightning vs. Your Pitch Makes My Kick Hard: You knew this was going to be a high scoring shoot out, both teams came out of the gate running and gunning! Banzai started out the first inning putting up 4 in the first and Kick Hard responded with 2. Banzai made their move in the second and put up another 9 with the help of Nicki Unrein booming a 3 run homer...holy smokes what a shot & what an inning!! The shots kept firing all night long and both teams were hitting their targets. Patrick Dahnert came out of left field for Banzai and helped on offense with 2 home runs of his own for the night...2 home run nights will quickly get you player of the week!! Unfortunately for Kick Hard, Banzai was not just about offense, they showcased their defense after their early scoring and shut down Kick Hard for the rest of the night. Banzai Lightning wins 19-6.
Cuernavaca Field 2 (7pm)
Dice vs. Punani Patrol: The friendly banter back and forth from these 2 teams just goes to show what this game is all about, Shit talking! Unfortunately Punani was a little short handed tonight and needed more people to keep the fight even. Dice jumped on the opportunity and danced their way to victory like Michael Jackson in Beat It. Jordan Hauser from Punani was showing off his dancing skills with a nice catch to end the 2nd and save two runs from scoring. The 3rd inning was a different dance style in this show and the scoring began with Andrew Rohr bringing in a base runner with a single up the middle with a full count on him from the Patrol. Dices, "New" Dan Linn responded when his turn was up with a 2 RBI triple in the 3rd to take the lead! Dice put up 5 in the inning and those moves had Punani spinning in circles for the rest of the game. It was all they scored for the game and all they needed to pull out the win. Dice wins 5-3.
