Girls Love Big Kicks (Red) vs. Kickaholics
(Charcoal): The Kickaholics jumped out to an early 3-0 after the top of the
2nd inning and then tried to hold on for dear life in this one. However,
Girls Love Big Kicks never goes down without a fight, and they immediately proceeded
to immediately turn up the defense after the 2nd inning. Brady “Oh
Captain, My Captain” Andersen from Girls Love Big Kicks had a particularly nice
three-up-three-down inning during the bottom of the 4th as the
pitcher. Unfortunately for Andersen’s team, the Kickaholics’ defense was super
tight throughout, with Cassandra “Catwoman” Peifer completing an impressive
double play in the top of the 5th and Rachel “Baller” Bondy making
some nice outs in the infield during the top of the 6th. Kickaholics win 4-1.
City Park Field 2 (6pm)
Lunchbox Violators (Daisy Yellow) vs. Balls Deep
(Blue): What a battle! Just because it’s the consolation bracket doesn’t
mean there can’t be excitement!!! Balls Deep held a 3-0 lead through the top of
the 4th inning until the Lunchbox Violators finally tied it up 3-3!
Going into the bottom of the 7th, it looked like the Lunchbox
Violators might score until the Balls Deep Captain, Dillon Flynn, made a diving
catch to save the game! Then, in extra innings, Nate Sherman from Balls Deep had
the game-winning RBI! And yes, this highlight had exclamation points in every
sentence! Balls Deep wins 5-3.

Real Housewives of Greely (Maroon) vs. New Kicks on the Block (Kiwi
Green): With the shining glimmer of the Horsetooth Cup in the background,
tensions were high in this contest. The Real Housewives of Greely quickly
asserted themselves by scoring four runs in the top of the 1st
inning. New Kicks on the Block was shell-shocked at first, but they eventually
cut deficit to 4-6 after the bottom of the 5th inning. Just as a
comeback seemed to be in the works, it was Catherine Mack (aka C-Mack) from the
Real Housewives of Greely who caught a screaming line drive to stifle the
comeback. Kickball analyst Dan Patrick said after the game, “Obviously, New
Kicks on the Block was disappointed that their bid for an undefeated season
went unfulfilled, but watch out for them next season—they will definitely be
contenders. It’s probably time we started calling them Old Kicks on the Block…”
Real Housewives of Greely wins 7-4.
City Park Field 4 (6pm)
High Rollers (Gold) vs. Oilers SLTI (Irish Green): Another
nail-biter! This is what the playoffs are for… The game started off slow with
the score 0-0 after the 1st inning, due in large part to an
unassisted double play by the High Rollers’ Matt Dea. Then Michael Schwarz,
Captain of the Oilers SLTI, broke the silence with a home run in the top of the
2nd inning to put his team on top. However, the lead wouldn’t last
long as soon enough the game was tied 2-2 going into the 7th inning.
That’s when the Oilers SLTI came through in the clutch to score two runs!!!
Michael Hallczuk, Captain of the High Rollers, commented after the game, “In
this epic struggle of high-caliber kickball squads, unfortunately there can
only be one highlander—I mean winner. Today, we are not the chosen ones, but
next season, we will roll even higher!” Oilers
SLTI win 4-2.
City Park Field 1 (7pm)
Kickaholics (Charcoal) vs. Balls Deep (Blue): Consolation/Toilet
Bowl Championship!!! There weren’t a lot of successful kicks or balls that went
deep in this one, but that doesn’t mean it wasn’t a great game. Tim “Iron Arm”
Arnesen made a great throw from the outfield for an out at home plate in the top
of the 1st to start things off for the Kickaholics. Then the pitcher
for Balls Deep, Ryan “Rollmaster” Smith had three straight outs in the bottom
of the 2nd inning. Finally, we got some scoring after John
“I-Got-Your-Back” Flack completed an inside-the-park home run in the bottom of
the 3rd inning to put the Kickaholics on top 1-0. Balls Deep would
go on to tie up the game in the top of the 5th, and so it would
remain until the bottom of the 7th inning… That’s when the
Kickaholics’ Avondine “Real Deal” Hill’s walk-off sac-fly secured the Toilet
Bowl for her team!!! Kickaholics win
2-1.
