Denver - Sunday Funday - Week 8 Highlights

Well ladies and gentleman, we are sad to see this season go. While we're going to miss all of you, every sport has their off season, and GO Kickball is no exception. Enjoy the time off, rest up for spring season, and we look forward to seeing you all again next year! (And look at it this way- you'll all be 6 months older and [hopefully] 6 months wiser right??)

Good luck to the teams going for gold at the 5280 CUP!

Cuernavaca Park Field 1 (10:00AM)

Banzai Lightning (Electric Yellow) vs. Fresh Kicks of Ball Air (Green): Both teams were down some key players, but Banzai had an advantage with coming off a pretty strong season. Banzai's Patrick Dahnert put up the first points with an electrifying 2-run RBI triple. Eventually, he was brought in to score their 3rd and final run of the first inning. Fresh Kicks came right back at them in the bottom of the inning, but could only answer with 1 and had to turn on the "D' to keep this game close. Brad Calloway really showed them how it's done and shut down Banzai in the second with a double play, rocketing the ball from right field to home, which closed out the inning and left Banzai scoreless.  After Fresh Kicks was held scoreless themselves in the bottom of the second, then watching Banzai bring 3 across the plate in the top of the 3rd, Fresh Kicks felt the burn to get something going offensively. Guess who stepped up to the plate, literally - yep, good ol' Brad Calloway! He slammed a boot for an RBI to give Fresh Kicks their 2nd point of the game, yet the third still ended with Banzai in the lead, 6-2. The fourth inning was a snooze-fest for both teams, and going into the fifth, it was up to either Banzai to pull away, or Fresh Kicks to catch up...it was still to soon to tell... but we know you just can't handle the suspense, so we'll just let it out - Banzai! Banzai! Banzai! That's right, they brought in 3 in the top off the fifth to bring it to a 7 run lead (9-2) in the top of the inning, then held Fresh Kicks to a shut out in the bottom with the help Patrick Dahnert's nice double play from pitcher to first. Heading into the sixth, Fresh Kicks knew it was now or never. But after Chris Crary smashed the hammer down to hit a huge 3-run HR, Fresh Kicks was only able to respond with 1 run.The final nail in the coffin came from Neils Neilson, perfectly placing a beautiful 3-run HR to the middle of center field for Banzai. Instead of yelling "going, going, gone", it was "running, running, score!", thus sealing Fresh Kick's fate and declaring Banzai Lightning the winners. Banzai Lightning wins, 17-6.

Cuernavaca Park Field 2 (10:00AM)

Hose Draggers (Red) vs. Ballsagna (Light Blue): This game tested one of our strongest teams of the year Hose Draggers, against one of our funnest teams, Ballsagna, so we were obviously expecting quite an entertaining finale. Ballsagna started off with a 2-run homer in the bottom of the first with the help of Matt Peterson, after shutting out Hose Draggers in the top of the inning. Going into the second, Ballsagna was up two and Hose Draggers needed to get on the board quick to stay in the game, but Ballsagna was here to make a statement: They were going to be a force to be reckoned with in the 5280 Cup.Then, in the bottom of the inning, Caitlin Siwanowicz had herself an intelligent 2-run RBI, bringing the Ballsagna lead up to 4-0. Hose Draggers just seemed a little off today and could not get anything going, not to mention the ref was "SICK" and was making some "BAD" calls. Hose Draggers was better than this, and they knew it, but they never really hit their offense stride. They finally hit their defensive stride in the bottom of the sixth when down 6-0 with an impressive 3-up 3-down to stop the bleeding, somewhat. After that, the scoring came to a halt and really, the statement had been made. Ballsagna was ready for the "BIG SHOW"- see you in the CUP! Ballsagna wins, 6-0.

Cuernavaca Park Field 3 (10:00AM)

Gone Rogue (Blue) vs. Punani Patrol/Step Parents (whatever shirt was clean): In the true spirit of"Sunday Funday", this match-up was just simply a drunken fun game that really didn't matter at all! Thanks, Punani Patrol/Step Parents, who were just a whole bunch of random players collaborating to put the hurt on someone in the league, and guess who they narrowed in on? Mike "Dad Pants" Atkinson from Gone Rogue! Well, this was a great game to end the season, full of fun and shenanigans. Some may say the final score was Punani Patrol/Step Parents wins, 6-5, but the true score may never be known. We shall mark it in the record books as the "game that will live on forever in our hearts." Win or Lose, We Still Booze.

Denver - Sunday Funday - Week 7 Highlights

Cuernavaca Park Field 1 (10:00AM)

Fresh Kicks of Ball Air (Green) vs. Hose Draggers (Red): With two weeks left of regular play, teams really needed to walk away with a "W" to help their placements for the 5280 Cup. Fresh Kicks has had a rough season, but their main goal of having Sunday Funday in the park has definitely been accomplished. On the other hand, Hose Draggers has been playing strong all season and are ready to give Dice a run for their money on the 18th.

This game started out a little slow...it is Sunday morning, after all. The only run scored in the first came with the help of David Bayouth from Hose Draggers, driving in an RBI in the bottom of the inning. Hose Draggers put up another 2 in the second and continued to hold Fresh Kicks scoreless in the top of the inning. The fireworks didn't really start til the Keeton brothers both had RBI's in the third, allowing them to put up 4 more which brought the score to 7-0. Fresh Kicks really pumped up the "D" in the fourth and a lot of it was the pitching from Brandon Fraule. He had moves we've never seen - with 2 outs and 2 strikes, he made a stunning behind-the-back pitch for the final strike and the final out of the inning. Fresh Kicks finally got on the board in the fifth when Nick Schnurr had an impressive 2-run RBI. Unfortunately that was the only 2 they put up all day. Hose Draggers wins, 7-2.

Cuernavaca Park Field 2 (10:00AM)

Gone Rogue (Blue) vs. Ballsagna (Teal Blue): This was sure to be a close one, with both teams entering week 7 with similar track records. Gone Rogue started out the top of the first inning with 2 runs scored, but when it was Ballsagna's turn, Matt Peterson marched right up and smashed a homerun to right field. In the second, Ballsagna turned up the "D" and held Gone Rogue scoreless, then went on to put up 2 runs of their own via another Matt Peterson homerun in the bottom of the inning, giving them a 4-2 lead. In the top of the third, Gone Rogue came out supercharged and struck back. Gary Spetseris hit a run-of-the-mill single that, due to back-to-back errors, turned into a 2-run RBI. Ballsagna responded in the bottom with another 2 runs, giving them the lead by 2 again. In the fourth, Ballsagna started pulling away. After Gone Rogue put up 1 in the top, Ballsagna responded with 4 runs of their own, now leading 10-5. Gone Rogue finally stopped the bleeding in the bottom of the sixth with the help of Chelsea Cutter - it was her quick hands that sealed the 3rd out at home plate to hold Ballsagna to 2 runs in the inning. In the top of the seventh, Gone Rogue was down and desperately needed 4 runs to keep the game going, but despite a great effort, they could only muster 2 runs. Ballsagna wins, 12-10

Cuernavaca Park Field 3 (10:00AM)

Mile High Club (Yellow) vs. Banzai Lightning (Neon Yellow): Mile High came out shooting in the first when Justin Anderson had an RBI double and Sam Sacher had a SAC fly. Banzai responded in the bottom of the inning with some great base running from 2nd base to put up 1 run. In the bottom of the third, Justin Spanbauer from Banzai had a 2 run RBI single to give them the lead. Both teams put the hurt on with the "D" in the fourth and no one scored, but the fifth had a different story in mind. Patrick Dahnert had an SAC fly RBI to right to bring in the "Batman" for Banzai. Then Mike Heugh had a beautifully played 2-run RBI to put up another couple runs in the fifth, ending the inning at 6-2. In the sixth, Banzai went on a scoring spree with 4 runs scored after shutting out Mile High in the top of the inning, score now 10-2. Mile High needed a miracle in the seventh, and Ally McCoy accepted the challenge - she kicked an RBI single to give them hope, but it just wasn't enough to turn it around. Banzai wins, 10-3.

Colorado Springs - Week 7 - Highlights

Memorial Park #3, Field 1 6 pm:

Pandora’s Box (Royal Blue) vs. Sons of Pitches (Ash Grey):

In what would be a proper sendoff to the Cup, both teams came in barreling looking to cement their playoff spot.  Sean Mcwethy would get SOP out to a booming lead early with a 2 run bomb in the bottom of the 1st to put SOP up 2-0. PB would get runners on 1st and 2nd in the top of the 2nd but it wasn’t meant to be as confusion on the base paths led to a ridiculous double play to end the inning. Bottom of the 2nd, and consistency was key for SOP, as batters after batters were solving the PB defense puzzle, altogether bringing home 5 more runs to go up 7-0. Top 3, and PB would get a chance to get back into the game, with back to back RBI boots by Renae Allemann and the artist known only as AJ bringing them within 5. Bottom of the 4th, after scoring another run in the top half, PB’s defense stood firm and with a boot in the air and a confused runner, PB was able to get an inning ending double play and only sacrificing 1 run, making it an 8-3 affair. Bottom of the 5th, and the Mogge sisters, Nancie and Jessica, strike as hard as any tag team and score 2 runs for the vaunted SOP offense, bolstering their lead to 7. Top 6, and the artist only known as AJ would strike again for Pandora’s Box, lifting a ball to the fences in right for a solo trip to put his team a little closer, 10-4. SOP would look to ice the game, and with a run coming home by way of Katie Strevey, SOP would do just that, shutting down PB 1-2-3 in the top of the 7th, ending the regular season on a high note.
Sons of Pitches wins, 11-4.

Memorial Park #3, Field 2, 6pm:

Schweddy Balls (White) vs. Hot Ice (Heather Grey):

In this week 7 clash of 2 former champions, something had to give, someone was going to go down. Schweddy Balls would look to impose their will early, loading the bases with 1 out, but a stud stand on defense by Hot Ice did the SB offense no favors, stranding them. Bottom of the 2nd, and Hot Ice would crack Chris Green’s pitching, and thanks to a Davis Tutt 2 run single, Hot Ice would bring 4 home for dinner and break up the shutout. Anything Schweddy Balls tried on offense, Hot Ice had an answer as they were shut down 1-2-3 in the top of the 3rd. Hot Ice would strike once again in the bottom of the  3rd, scoring 2 more to go up a half dozen, 6-0. Chris Green would do his part on offense for Schweddy Balls, with a leadoff double in the top of the 4th, but it was all for none as he would be stranded at 3rd. Top of the 5th, and Schweddy Balls looked ready to strike again, but by the laces on their shoes, Hot Ice got out of the jam unscathed. Bottom of the 5th, and Beau Kelly started doing Beau Kelly things again, with a leadoff triple, then coming home to score to start a 2 run spurt on offense to put his Hot Ice squad up 8-0. Top 6, and Schweddy Balls was feeling the pressure, looking to score by any means necessary, but a ridiculous reaching catch at 3rd by the woman named Kelsey kept the shut out alive and well. Hot Ice would score once more in the 6th, and in the top of the 7th, thanks to a diving game ending catch by Beau Kelly, kept the game at a shutout and secured a great win.  Hot Ice rolls on, 9-0.

Memorial Park #3, Field 1 7pm:

Bad News Brews (Daisy Yellow) vs. Pitches Be Crazy To (Carolina Blue):

This game to end the season had a little bit of everything that you’d want for a season finale and more. BNB got out to a hot start against PBCT, booting balls all over the slick turf, sending 2 runners home to go up 2-0. That lead would not stand, as PBCT went to work on BNB’s defense, and with a lot of credit due to Josh Rodney’s 2 run home run, PBCT capitalized and scored 4 in the inning to take the lead by 2. Top of the 2nd, and BNB was looking to do PBCT in, scored another run on Troy Martinez and got the game within a run. BNB used that momentum and silenced PBCT, sending them out 1-2-3. Martinez and PBCT said anything you can do, we can do better, and shut down BNB 1-2-3 not once, but two times in consecutive innings!!! Bottom of the 4th, PBCT went back to the heavy hitters, booming home 2 more runs to blow the game open to 6-3. The defenses were stout on both sides of the big red ball, neither team allowing a run in the 5th. Bottom of the 6th, and PBCT looked for one more insurance run, and couldn’t ask for a better pure striker in the game today, as Josh Rodney booms his 2nd home run of the night, a solo work this time, and put PBCT up 7-3. Top of the 7th, and Martinez was absolutely filthy, making batters swing and miss, and  if BNB got a hold of a pitch, it landed in Rodney’s hands as he would make the last 3 outs, and secure the victory. Pitches Be Crazy To wins, 7-3.

Memorial Park #3 Field 2, 7pm:

Bazinga (Red) vs. Hashtag Balls (Forest Green):

In a game where on paper, there should be a lot of offense, this game proved true for a short while but that’s why we play the game. Bazinga would get out to an early lead, booming home 2 runs to go up 2-0 (Makes sense). Hashtag would get runners on 1st and 2nd in the bottom of the inning, and looked poised to score back, but a one hand snag by Caleb Van Wingerden at home plate and a rocket back to first put in a double play and left Hashtag begging. Top of the 2nd, and Bazinga was up to their usual tricks, this time it was Matt Howes doing a high jump split to avoid the tag out and turns an almost out into a 2 run home run!!!! Capping what would be a 3 run inning to go up 5-0. Hashtag, try and try as they did, could not solve the Bazinga defense, being shut out in the 2nd and 3rd innings as well. Top of the 4th, and Bazinga layered on the offense, scoring 4 and looking for more with runners on 1st and 2nd, but a Willie Mays-esque catch by Zach Schultz on Hashtag kept the runners at their bases and sealed the offense. Hashtag was able to crack open the offense in the botto0m of the 4th, with an over throw at 1st allowing Hashtag to come barreling home and break up the shut out. Top of the 5th, and Bazinga looked for another run, well they got it off the foot of Nate Kischer, hitting that extra gear and burning home for a solo shot. Bottom of the 7th, still a 10-1 game, and Hashtag would get runners on and another run home, showing life, but it was too little too late.  Bazinga rides on, 10-2.

Memorial Park #3, Field 1 8pm:

Ballsagna (Charcoal) vs. Kicks N Giggles (Light Blue):

In a season that has seen a little bit of everything, this game was culmination of everything that you’d want in an offensive fireworks display. Kicks N Giggles got the fireworks lit up and booming in the bottom of the 1st, with too many highlights to contain, as 11 runs are blasted home for an early 11-0 lead. Ballsagna would strike back quickly as the defense went to sleep for KNG, allowing 5 runs and getting the game within 6. KNG would look to create more boom in the bottom of the 2nd, but it wasn’t to be as Ballsagna would set KNG down 1-2-3. Ballsagna would get a runner on in the top of the 3rd, but to no avail as the KNG defense would turn 3 straight pop outs afterwards to strand the runner. KNG would get on the board again, this time an Alex Moorhead GRAND SLAM would be the offense, as 4 more came home to go up 10. Bottom of the 4th, and Ballsagna made a pitching change to try to slow the KNG offense, it backfired as KNG would unload any and all offense they had pent up, 13 runs came home in the inning to go up an astonishing 28-5. Ballsagna would feel the heat as they were looking to score in anyway possible, but it wasn’t their night as they were shut down 1-2-3 in the top of the 5th. Bottom 5, and KNG went back on the offensive, another 4 spot would hang on the board to bolster their lead even more. Ballsagna would strike back in the 6th, with a run coming home off the boot of Nicole Yates to get a 6th run on the board. Bottom 6, and KNG was looking for the kill shot, and with a 3 run boot by Alan Paquin followed by a Solo shot by Alex Moorhead, gave KNG the solid lead and the win as they turned Ballsagna down 1-2-3 in the top of the 7th.  Kicks N Giggles wins, 36-6.

Memorial Park #3 Field 2 8pm:

Fresh Kicks of Ball Air (Black) vs. HeadShots Should Count (Sport Grey):

This was the absolute gem of the night, as we had 2 powerhouse squads looking to prove they were the superior squad. Neither team was willing to give an inch on defense in the beginning, as neither team would score through the 1st 2 innings. Tony Case got the show on the road in the top of the 3rd for FBKA, scoring all the way from first, sparking what would be a 2 run inning, putting FBKA up 2-0. Would’ve been more, but a diving stop in foul territory by Liz Watts cold stoned them. Bottom of the 4th, and the defenses would bein to show damage in the armor, as HSSC would score 3 runs thanks to blasts by Cortney Smith and Braxton Finch to go up 3-2. Top of the 5th, and Tony Case blasted another boot for FBKA, a 3 run hit, to go back ahead 5 to 3. Top of the 6th, and FBKA blew the doors off the game, rocketing runs left and right, 7 runs came home to go up 12-3. FBKA thought it was done, but HSSC clawed and scratched their way back in, scoring 3 in the bottom of the 6th to get within 6. Bottom 7, and HSSc went ballistic, scoring as many as they could, scored 4 before a pop out to Tony Case at 3rd for the game winning out.  Fresh Kicks of Ball Air survives, 12-10.

Denver - Wednesday Highlights - Week 7

Cuernavaca Park Field 1 (6pm):

Balls & Dolls (light green) vs. Step Parents (blue):

For a brief period of time in this game, Balls & Dolls held the lead...but then Step Parents got their turn on offense. Chris Roberts had an RBI in the first inning to get Step Parents' scoring streak kicked off, "literally". Teammate Jen Turdik followed suit with a 2-run RBI, closing the first inning with a strong lead of 5-1. While the second inning was nothing to write home about, the third inning did see some postcard-worthy action, with a Jeremy Wagner home run for Step Parents. To silence the crickets, Balls & Dolls snuck in a run in the fourth, but that half of the inning came to a screeching halt as Step Parent's Tommy Welsch snagged a sweet double play. Heading into the bottom of the fifth, Step Parents continued to hold the lead at 6-2. Some strong defense from Balls & Dolls left the bottom of the fifth score-free, particularly due to an incredible diving catch from Frank Baca. Step Parents ran in 2 more runs in the sixth to seal the deal. So while Balls & Dolls may have scored first in this game, they just didn't score enough. Step Parents win, 8-2.

Cuernavaca Park Field 2 (6pm):

Simpletons (black) vs. Saved by the Balls (red):

All Branson Fields wanted for his birthday was a Saved by the Balls win...and SPOILER ALERT: he got it!!! Things weren't looking so good for the birthday boy's team at first... Simpletons' Jake Holsteen added 2 RBI's to his stat sheet in the first inning, and they held the lead at 4-0 heading into the third. But then, just like that, Saved by the Balls kicked it into gear - they held Simpletons scoreless and then went on to even the score by getting 4 runs in the bottom of the third! From here, the game was all about the Branson Birthday Bonanza and not about ball bashing as each team went scoreless for two innings. In the bottom of the fifth, after the last keg stand was finished, Saved by the Balls went into action scoring 3 runs and taking a commanding 7-4 lead. The Simpletons answered with 1 run, but that was it. Looks like it was a happy birthday indeed for Branson! Saved by the Balls wins, 7-5.

Ciancio Park Field 1 (6pm)

Ball So Hard (green) vs. Don't Stop Ballieving (white):

Don't Stop Ballieving didn't waste any time in the first, loading the bases with 3 singles. Then, Kevin Klein lines a 2-RBI, getting Don't Stop Ballieving on the board. Megan Freas joins the RBI party with one a single to left, adding a 3rd run to the inning. Ball So Hard is finally able to put an end to the scoring with a chaotic but effective double play. Don't Stop Ballieving held the lead at 4-0 going in to the third inning, but the shut-out ended there as Ball So Hard's Jeff Ferguson's SAC single scored their first (and only) run of the game. In the bottom of the third, a Matt Curless single brings one run in, and from there on out, it was a Don't Stop Ballieving fireworks show, lead by Matt Curless, Jeff Lalama and Shane McBride. You don't want to mess with these 3 amigos. Don't Stop Ballieving wins, 12-1.

Punani Patrol (pink) vs. Dice (purple):

Vegas has this game 5/2 odds on it being the Championship game in The 5280 Cup October 18th.  Here at GO Kickball Corporate, we are placing a HUGE weight on the 1st inning of play, IF, it does come down to these two teams.  It truly is amazing statistically how favored you are in the game if you score the most runs in the 1st inning!!  Who can start out hot, we shall see??!!  Both teams scored in the 1st inning in this one, Poon Patrol - 1, Dice 2.  Not another run was scored until the bottom of the 5th inning when Dice plated another.  If that doesn't show you the emphasis on the 1st inning, we're pretty sure we'll never get ya there!!  Punani answered in the top of the 6th inning with a run to get within 1 run of Dice.  Dice answered with 1 run in the bottom of the 6th & closed out Punani in the top of the 7th.  There were some highlight reel names in this one, but we're leaving them out, as these two teams are truly identified by their team names 1st!  Dice wins, 4-2.

Fort Collins - Week 7 - Highlights

Edora Park Field 1 (6pm)

Florida Mike and the Free Ballers (Lime) vs. Bobs Your Uncle (Violet): It was a close game throughout, but it really came down to the wire in the bottom of the 7th inning… Florida Mike and the Free Ballers were on top 6-5 going into the 5th inning, but that’s when Bob’s Your Uncle pounced and scored three runs to take the lead! Brent Behler from Florida Mike and the Free Ballers would hit a home run in the bottom of the 7th inning to make it a one run game, but that was close as they could get. Niki Weesner, Captain of Florida Mike and the Free Ballers, commented after the game, “We started the season strong, but after a couple injuries and some mental lapses, we have been on a downward slide… Maybe free ballin at every game isn’t the best strategy.” Bobs Your Uncles wins 8-7.

Edora Park Field 2 (6pm)

New Kicks on the Block (White) vs. Kicktease (Red):  What a crazy game! With first place on the line for Kicktease, it looked they had everything all wrapped up going into the 7th inning with a 4-3 lead... Kicktease had maintained their lead despite two inside the park home runs early on from Austin “The Mole” Cole and Brian “The Jackhammer” Jackson from New Kicks on the Block. Sarah “Laser Tag” McTaggart’s bobble catch for a key out in the top of the 6th certainly helped Kicktease’s cause as well—then the floodgates opened up however. With two outs in the top of the 7th inning, the legs from New Kicks on the Block caught fire—everyone who got on base scored! By the time the carnage had ended, New Kicks on the Block had scored 10 runs! Absolute insanity!!! New Kicks on the Block wins 13-4.

Edora Park Field 3 (6pm)

Just Kickin It (Old Gold) vs. Grassholes (Carolina Blue): Never underestimate your opponent… The Grassholes thought they had it all wrapped up after “B’s” leadoff triple in the top of the third inning, which was then followed by a two-run home run for the Grassholes. However, Amanda Daul from Just Kickin It quickly swung the momentum with a spectacular line drive catch to end the top of the 3rd inning. From there on out, it was a tight one… Dick Vitale, the announcer for the game, commented afterwards, “If it weren’t for some questionable calls by the umpire, I think Just Kickin It might have pulled off the upset… I am putting them on upset alert throughout the playoffs baby!” Grassholes win 6-5.

Edora Park Field 4 (6pm)

RiKICKulous (Irish Green) vs. Check Out My Big Kick (Maroon): Another tight one! RiKICKulous scored two runs in the top of the 1st inning and Check Out My Bick Kick scored three runs in the bottom of the 1st inning… From there on out though, it was slim pickings. In the top of the 3rd inning. the center fielder for Check Out My Big Kick, Brady Andersen, had a great play to stop a runner from advancing. And then RiKICKulous’ pitcher, Jason Greene, completed an amazing diving catch to keep the score all tied up in the top of the 5th inning. (Seethe highlight here.) However, the scoreboard ultimately remained unchanged after the 1st inning, thereby giving Check Out My Big Kick another key victory. Check Out My Big Kick wins 3-2.

Edora Park Field 1 (7pm)

Oilers SLTI (Daisy Yellow) vs. Lunchbox Violators (Royal Blue): Once again, as we gear up for another posteason, the Oilers SLTI are looking in top form. The Oilers SLTI would score early and often in this one… Then later, Angela Smith’s over-the-shoulder-grab in right field would help secure her team the victory. Smith said after the game, “I am so proud to be a part of this squad. Every game, we go out there and play our little hearts out… Sometimes we don’t win, but when we believe in each other, anything is possible.” Including maybe another Horsetooth Cup…? Oilers SLTI win 9-4.

Edora Park Field 2 (7pm)

A Night at the Roxbury (Black) vs. Ballz N Dollz (Heliconia): Talk about an offensive explosion!!! A Night at the Roxbury really went all out in this one… In particular, Bobby “Hobby Lobby” Jorgensen for A Night at the Roxbury had a spectacular RBI in the bottom of the 3rd inning. However, there was still some defense on display: Dustin “Make My Day” Clay made a beautiful diving catch in the bottom of the 2nd inning for Ballz N Dollz, and Maggie “Monster Mags” McKinley secured an amazing diving catch as well in the top of the 6th. The lack of offense for Ballz N Dollz was ultimately their undoing again though. A Night at the Roxbury wins 10-1.

Edora Park Field 3 (7pm)

High Rollers (Charcoal) vs. Little Lebowski Urban Achievers (Light Pink): This contest undoubtedly had the intensity of a playoff matchup… The High Rollers jumped out to an early lead after Colter Schutle scored a run in the bottom of the 1st inning with some expert base running techniques. But the defending champs, Little Lebowski Urban Achievers, weren’t going down without a fight. Game MVP Dane Anderson’s layout catch at third base and his leadoff triple/score in the top of the 4th inning sent the statement that his team wasn’t giving up. Unfortunately for the defending champs, the High Rollers were ready to respond with some insurance runs in the bottom of the 6th inning. See you guys in the playoffs! High Rollers win 6-2.

Edora Park Field 4 (7pm)

Where My Pitches At (Purple) vs. American Made (Sport Grey): What is with all these close games? Talk about disparity! After a slow offensive start that was helped along by Spencer Hellwig’s defense in center field for Where My Pitches At, American Made would finally put four runs on the board in the top of the 4th inning…. But could they hold on???!!! Allen Stefanik from American Made sure gave it his all—his diving catch in foul territory for an out in the bottom of the 6th inning brought his team one step closer to victory. (Seethe highlight here.) However, Where My Pitches At turned in a valiant effort by scoring two runs in the bottom of the 7th inning… So close yet so far! American
