Derek Freeman started off the game with a 2 run triple in the top of the first for Balls. They also scored another in the second and then Aaron Zolloinger for Roshambo had an amazing Double Play with a shoestring catch to stop the bleeding. Coming into the 7th inning the score was 4-2 with Balls leading and Roshambo needed to shut them down and score 3 to win. They held them to zero and needed to make some runs and they almost did but then Nicole Schumacher had an amazing running catch across the field to clinch the win. Ballsagna Wins 4-2.

Gone Rogue (Royal Blue) VS. Fresh Kicks of Ball Air (Navy): Gone put the first one on the board in the first and then both teams went on the defense for the next 2 innings. Gone scored another in the 4th with a RBI from Mike Topolski. Brad Calloway countered with an RBI of his own in the bottom of the Fourth to bring the score to 3-2 in the favor of Fresh Kicks. Untouchaballs (Dark Heather) VS. BALLIN (Purple): We would like to welcome BALLIN to this league and would like to thank you for joining. This was the first game for a lot of BALLIN’S players and we look forward to you all playing and growing with our league. At the top of the first Jeff Key from BALLIN showed us he knows a little something about defense with a double play. Untouchaballs answered and showed they knew a little something about offense with the help of Caitlin Whitham who had a beautiful RBI to start off the scoring run. In the top of the 3rd Tom Gilchrist added 3 with a homerun and brought in a couple of players from 1st and 2nd for untouched. Nick Schnurr did it again in the 4th for Untouched with another homerun and brought in another 2 to extend the lead. With this being BALLIN’s first game in this league they were working out the kinks and finding out who they are. Untouchablls Wins 23-0.

Booze on First (Cardinal Red) VS. Pink Pussycats (Neon Pink): Our final game of the day was a fun adventure with a newer team to our league. Both teams scored in the first inning to get us started, but Pink came out on top with a 2-1 lead. Dorian Wilson showed up in the second for Booze with a 2 RBI triple in the second to give them the lead, but Pink answered with a run of their own in the bottom to tie it up. The Pussycats had a circus 3 person catch for the final out of the 3rd to keep the game close. In the top of the 4th David Strickland for Booze had a fortunate 3 run RBI to put them up by 3 and that’s when it seemed to run away from the Pussycats. They weren’t able to score again till the 7th and got 3 across the plate but that was after Booze went on a 9 and 0 run. Booze on First Wins 15-6.

Highlights 4.10.16

Cuernavaca Park Field 1 (11am)

Booze on First (Cardinal Red) VS. Fresh Kicks of Ball Air (Navy): We had some great games for Sunday morning week 2 and to start us off we had Booze and Fresh with a close games. The very first inning showed some skills on both defense and offense. Whitney Hamlin showed us some serious defense with a unassisted double play at first base for Fresh. Evan Constan showed us the offensive skills with RBI triple in the top of the first to score the first run of the game for Booze. Fresh was not able to answer in the bottom of the first and with some aggressive base running from Booze they were able to add another in the top of the second and the top of the third. Parker Leafblad finally got Fresh on the board by sneaking behind the defense for the first of their 2 runs of the game. That was all she wrote for the scoring in this game and Booze ended up coming out on top. Booze on First Wins 3-2.

Cuernavaca Park Field 2 (11am)

Ballsagna (Neon Orange) VS. Hose Draggers (Tennessee Orange): Our second game of the morning we had another very close game that even went into extra innings. Ballsagna started of the game by putting up 2 on the board in the first and Hose responded with 1 of their own in the bottom of the inning. Coming into the 3rd the score was 2-1 in favor of Ballsagna but then Derrick Keeton for Hose kicked a RBI double to tie the game in the bottom after holding Ballsagna scoreless in the top of the inning. Both teams took a major defensive strategy for the next few innings and no one scored untill the 6th. Ashley Moore had a perfectly placed bunt RBI for Ballsagna to take the lead in the top of the 6th.  Hose was able to tie it up just in time in the bottom of the 7th to extend the game into extra innings and held Ballsagna scoreless in the top of the 8th. Then another one of those Keetons came up to bat in the bottom of the 8th and this time it was Dewayne Keeton who came through in the clutch with a RBI Triple. Hose Draggers wins 4-3.

Cuernavaca Park Field 3 (11am)

Ballin (Purple) VS. Balls and Dolls (Red): We are glad to see these 2 teams playing and having a lot of fun doing it! The first 2 innings went scoreless as these teams were playing some major “D” to begin with. The first run of the game came from Mark Grimaldi from Balls & Dolls with a RBI in the bottom of the 3rd. Jack Shoenbaechoer kept the defensive side of things going for Balls & Dolls with a very nice double play from left field to second to end the top of the 5th. Ballin showed some defensive in the bottom of the fifth when a line drive back to the pitcher Shawn Carpenter who handled it perfectly and caught it for the out. In the top of the 6th we want to give some major props to Jon Clark for ending the game with a double play from the pitcher’s mound to first for Balls & Dolls which sealed the deal. Balls & Dolls Wins 3-0.

Cuernavaca Park Field 1 (12pm)

Gone Rogue (Royal Blue) VS. Roshambo (Lime): What a fun game this was with these 2 teams clashing for our first game of the 12 o’clock hour. Our first inning was scoreless for both teams but Gone came out swinging in the top of the second and put up 4 runs to take the lead. Roshambo was not able to answer in the bottom of the 2nd and was not able to put their first on the board until the bottom of the 3rd. Gone added another run in the top of the 3rd and 3 more in the 4th. We must also give notice to an amazing diving catch from Chris Kirkendall from Roshambo to end the top of the 3rd and stop the bleeding. Gone had added another 5 runs in the 5th so coming into the 6th Roshambo was down 10-1 and needed some serious numbers to try to catch up and that is just what they did. Roshambo put up another 4 in the bottom of the 6th and that was all the scoring they could for the rest of the game. Gone Rogue Wins 10-5.

Cuernavaca Park Field 2 (12pm)

Pink Pussycats (Neon Pink) VS. Untouchaballs (Dark Heather): With our final game today we had a lot of fun watching these 2 teams battle it out and hope they had a lot of fun too. In the first inning Tim Gilchrist for Untouchaballs slammed the first run of the game with a Home Run to right field. In the bottom of the 4th Pink’s pitcher Dana Guyther showed of his defense skills with a diving catch and then threw to first for the double play. In the bottom of the 5th we saw another Home Run and this one came from Mike Wagner from Untouchaballs also to right field. Unfortunately Pink was not able to keep up this game and just couldn’t seem to put the pieces together today. Untouchaballs Wins 6-0.
