Parents got the scoring started with four runs in the bottom of the 1st inning. They had their defense on point and kept Grit off the board for most of the game. Grit had a flash of awesomeness in the bottom of the 2nd inning when Eric Bennett caught two pop flies in a row to end the inning...not a flash of awesomeness...simply constantly awesomeness!! Parents still managed a run in that inning and scored another one in the bottom of the 5th inning...dang Back Handers!! Grit scored Awesome run with a solo home run by Zack Bolden in the top of the 6th inning. Parents would answer in the bottom of the 6th with a grand slam from Jake Simpson who said he would be making the tournament this year. Step Parents win, 11-1.
Don't Stop Ballieving vs. Put It in the Bunt
Dan Martinez, for Bunt, got the scoring started with a little base running magic in the bottom of the 1st inning. This guy is amazing...check out this photo from last season!! The score would remain the same until the the bottom of the 3rd inning when Bunt put up three runs. Two of those runs came off the orig short shorts gangsta (OSSG), Brady Akers of course, massive home run...BA BA BA!! Then in the top of the 4th inning, Ballieving made this a close game with a three run triple by Shane McBride...now that's a comeback clutch shot!! However, Bunt would add on two more runs in the bottom of the 6th to cap off the scoring. Put It in the Bunt wins, 6-3.
Banzai Lightning vs. Punani Patrol
This was our best game of the night. Banzai scored first with two runs in the top of the 2nd inning and scored another run in the top of the 3rd inning to give them a 3-0 lead. Lightning was off to a monumental start against the solid PP!! Then in the bottom of the 5th inning Punani scored four runs to take a 4-3 lead capitalizing on errors, fancy footwork, and aggressive base running! Banzai answered with one run in the 6th to tie the game 4-4 and all the media folks gravitated to this game. In the end, Punani had the answer and scored the final run of the game in the bottom of the 6th inning for an epic finish. Punani Patrol wins, 5-4.
Dice vs. Your Pitch Makes My Kick Hard
Dice scored early and often. Wendy Evans reached base safely in every one of her plate appearances and Lacy Moore scored three runs by herself...these ladies are Mile High!! Brett and John Anderson combined to pitch a shut out with some of the wickedest sliders you have ever seen...way worse than White Castle!! In the end Dice amassed 17 runs over the seven innings and said "dats why we #1...it's lonely up here!!" Dice wins, 17-0.
