Kicks n Giggles (Light Blue) vs Fresh
Kicks of Ball Air (Black):
In a battle
of 2 heavyweight squads, everyone that was anyone was paying attention to this
game. Connor Carman for K&G got out to an early MVP like lead in the 1st,
booting a 2 run double up the gap to give Kicks n Giggles a 2-0 lead. FBKA wouldn’t score in the 1st,
but all was answered in the bottom of the 2nd inning for them, as
Ryan Longan goes yyyyyyyaaaaaaarrrrrrddddd (if you can’t tell, it was a deep kick)
for a solo shot and brings FBKA within a run after 2 innings. Top of the 3rd,
and K&G was looking to regain their 2 run comfort lead and who else but
Connor Carman again providing the boot for a round tripper of his own to put
Kicks up 3-1. It could’ve been a lot more, but an impressive Willie Mays-esque
catch at 3rd base by FBKA ended the K&G threat. Top 4 and
K&G was looking for more, as they would plate 2 more runs on a series of 5
straight batters getting on base, slowly getting away from FBKA 5-1. Oh how the
tide would change in FBKA’s favor in the 5th, as it all began with
Erin Sheik booting an RBI single, and ending with a Ryan Longan 2 run triple to
put together a ridiculous 4 run inning, tying the game up at 5 apiece. Top of
the 6th, and K&G would look for the insurance run for the win,
and Michael Terry obliged with a rocket of a double off his foot brought home a
run to go up 6-5. Bottom of the 7th, and FBKA needed assistance.
Ryan Longan struck again with 2 on for an RBI single to tie the game at 6. Erin
Sheik would come to bat with the bases loaded, and…. GETS THE WALK OFF WALK to
seal FBKA’s fortune. Fresh Kicks of Ball Air wins, 7-6

Sons of Pitches (Ash Grey) vs.
Bazinga (Red):
How this
game didn’t make primetime is phenomenal, as we had the 2 remaining undefeated
teams going at each other in what looked to be like an all-star shootout. SOP came up to bat 1st, looking to
get ahead early as they are accustom to, but are sat down 1-2-3 by the stagnant
Bazinga D. Matt Howes would get Bazinga on the board in the bottom of the 1st
with a sac fly to right, bringing Nate Kischer home to go ahead 1-0. SOP wasn’t
too thrilled that they were trailing, but Bazinga didn’t care as they set the
SOP offense down 1-2-3 in 3 PITCHES!!! Bottom 2, and Bazinga called out the
soft kitty offense (still alive and well), and they took the game into their
own hands, as Chris Van Wingerden smokes a bases loaded 2 run single to right
to start what would be a 4 run spurt, going up 5-0. SOP was searching for
answers, but the duo on the mound of Keith Hausam and Matt Howes was beginning
to be too much for SOP, shut out through 3. Bazinga would score again in the
bottom of the 3rd to go up 6, but Katie Strevey of SOP would do
everything to give her team a spark and lands a superwoman catch in centerfield
for the 3rd out!!! SOP would get a chance in the top of the 5th
to get back in the game, and do thanks to a string of 4 straight batters
getting on base, plating one to break the shut out at 6-1. Bazinga was not
happy, and made SOP pay for scoring on them by returning fire with 4 runs,
thanks to a 2 run smash to left by Katelyn Pagano sparking the scoring. Bazinga
and Matt Howes took over in the 6th, as SOP was once again shut down
on 3 pitches. Bazinga would add 2 more
runs in the bottom of the 6th and effectively shut down the SOP
offense in the 7th, ending their winning streak. Bazinga wins, 12-1

Ballsagna (Charcoal) vs. Schweddy
Balls (White):
In a
midseason interdivisional match up, both teams were looking to get up in their
respective standings, looking ahead to the Cup. Ballsagna would come up against
a stiff defense and pitcher in Wes Wilhelm, and they were politely sent back to
the dugout 1-2-3. Wilhelm would then spark Schweddy Balls’ offense with an RBI
single to left center to put Schweddy Balls up 1-0. Ballsagna would get back on
the board in the 2nd, putting balls in unreachable places to knot
the game up at 1. Ethan Eaton would come to bat for SB and deliver the ultimate
kick, an RBI triple up the right field line to put SB back in the lead by 1.
Top of the 3rd, and Ballsagna simply wouldn’t go away, scoring a run
again to tie the game up at 2. (Sensing a theme here?) SB would come to bat and
be stone walled on 3 groundouts to 1st to keep the game tied at 2.
Top 4, and Ballsagna broke the theme of the game, well more like Greg Smith
with a bases clearing 3 run double to put his team up 3 (ironic isn’t it).
Schweddy Balls would be playing catch up the rest of the game, as they were
unable to score in the 4th and 5th innings, while
Ballsagna would add a run to make it a 6-2 Ballsagna lead. Bottom of the 6th,
and Wes Wilhelm put on his PF Flyers and turned an overthrow at 1st
to a home run to bring Schweddy Balls within 3. Top 7, and Ballsagna would look
to add more run support, but a diving catch in shallow left by Ricky Favilla
ends the threat. Schweddy Balls would have their heavy hitters up for the
bottom of the 7th, but all for nothing as they all booted it high
and deep and into Ballsagna’s arms, sealing their fate. Ballsagna wins, 6-3

Hashtag Balls (Forest Green) vs.
Pitches Be Crazy To (Carolina Blue):
In a strange
game throughout, both squads came in chomping at the bit for a win midway
through the season. Hashtag wanted to get ahead early, and early they did with
run support form a plethora of players in the likes of Lawrence “Shallow Hal”
Halby, Joey “Pope” McElvy, Allie “Lil
Snatch” Snatchco, Jon ”Farmer Brown” McDonald, and capped by Doug “Bernie”
Burris all driving in a total of 6 runs in the 1st. PBCT would look to strike back, as Hunter
Saltzgiver would get a leadoff double, but wasn’t driven home, stranded on 3rd.
Top 2, and we have more scoring from Hashtag, this time coming from Danielle
“Dani” Ficco and Scott “Holla Holla” Holewinsky bringing the boom sticks to cap
a 3 run 2nd to go up 9-0. Bottom of the 2nd, and PBCT
would get their answers to their prayers in the boot of Sara Fields, screaming
an RBI single off her foot to put PBCT on the board 9-1. Hashtag would look to
strike heavy again in the 3rd, but the PBCT defense would get all 3
outs in just 4 batters!!! Bottom 3 and PBCT would slowly but surely begin to
tear into the Hashtag lead, with a sac fly by Jill Bourgeois to left to bring
home another run to make it a 7 run game. Top 4 and PBCT would stand tall again
on defense, trapping Hashtag with the bases loaded, potentially swinging the
momentum in their favor. Hashtag would hold their ground against PBCT in the
bottom of the 4th and then go on the offensive in the top of the
5th, with “Holla Holla” coming home on a fielder’s choice to put Hashtag up
10-2 late in the game. Top of the 6th, and Adam “Big Hurt” Huerta
would unload on the PBCT defense, receiving an inside the park Home Run thanks
to overthrows everywhere to go up 11-2 late. Marci Conder for PBCT would be a
hero in the bottom of the 6th for PBCT as she would sacrifice
herself for the greater good as her efforts were rewarded with another run to
make it an 11-3 contest. Bottom of the 7th, and PBCT was looking for
one more offensive push, but were stonewalled, stranding a runner on 1st
and giving Hashtag the win. Hashtag Balls rolls, 11-3

Bad New Brews (Daisy Yellow) vs. Hot
Ice (Dark Heather):
In a game
that showcased 2 different varieties of game play, This game turned out to be a
ball of awesomeness!! BNB got off to a hot start against Hot Ice (See what
happened there?) with a quick run in the top of the 1st to get an
early lead. Beau Kelly would counter for Hot Ice, booting home a 2 run shot all
the way to the parking lot to give his team a 2-1 advantage after the 1st.
BNB was unable to convert any offense in the top of the 2nd inning,
and Hot Ice mad them pay as Charlie Andrews would send a 2 run single up the
left field line to increase Hot Ice’s lead to 3. Top of the 3rd, and
Craig Boyungs would get BNB right back in line to win the day and the game with
a massive RBI double, and later coming home himself to get within 1 run of a
vaunted Hot Ice. Bottom of the 4th, and Beau Kelly strikes again for
Hot Ice, this time trucking all the way home from 1st on a pop fly
to right field, showing he meant white hot business. Bottom of the 5th,
still a 2 run lead for Hot Ice, and they would pounce on BNB, drilling at one
point 6 straight batters on base and bringing home 3 to increase their lead to
5. Bottom of the 6th, and Hot Ice was looking for more run support,
but a man by the name of Matt Sayars for BNB would get not 1, not 2, but ALL 3
OUTS AT 3RD BASE!!!!!!! Top 7th, and BNB had the heart of
their team up to bat, but it was all for nothing, as they weren’t able to get
any batters on, and Hot Ice prevailed. Hot Ice wins, 8-3

HeadShots Should Count (Sport Grey)
vs Pandora’s Box (Royal Blue):
In the
nightcap of the week 4 festivities, both teams came in looking to add another win
to their already impressive resumes. HSSC would have to wait until the top of
the 2nd to get on the board in this game, as Christian Watts booms a
fielder’s choice to first out, but Braxton Finch came all the way home to score
the game’s first run. PB was convinced they’d get on the board in the bottom of
the 2nd, but 3 straight pop outs on 4 pitches by HSSC said
otherwise. Bottom of the 3rd, and PB would load the bases for the
heavy hitter on their team in a man simply known as Tyler, and he would boot a
rocket to 3rd base, but it would be caught for the 3rd
out, turning away the offensive threat.
Top of the 4th, and that guy named Braxton Finch would come
through clutch for HSSC again, booming an RBI single up the right field line,
bringing in Joel Van Wingerden for a 2-0 lead. PB would send the middle of the
lineup to bat, and all would be turned away for a 1-2-3 inning in the bottom of
the 4th. Neither team was able to score in the 5th,
leading up for a phenomenal finish to the game. Top 6, and HSSC would look to
add more support on offense and would get batters on 1st and 2nd,
but the PB defense stood firm, allowing only 1 run to give HSSC the 3-0 lead
late. Top 7 and Baylor Finch would come through clutch for HeadShots booting a
2 run bomb to bring herself and Christian watts home for a 5-0 lead. Bottom of
the 7th, and PB would get the bases loaded, ready to strike and get
back in the game, but the catch of the night goes to Klint Kane for his sliding
rendition of Derek Jeter for the 3rd out, preserving the HeadShots
Should Count the shutout win. HeadShots Should Count wins, 5-0
