Ballsagna (Aqua Blue)
vs. Fresh Kicks of Ball Air (Green): We are halfway through the season! With Fresh Kicks
coming off a forfeit and a loss in the last set of games, the whole team showed
up (wahoo!) to try and get a “W” on the books. Ballsagna was coming off a win from
last week and wanted to start a streak of their own. Both teams scored in the
first inning, but Ballsagna outdid Fresh Kicks with the help of Derek Freeman.
Derek boomed a home run and brought in the runner on third in the top of the
first to start the game off. Fresh Kicks had their chance in the bottom of the
first when Tack (only one name - like Prince) strategically placed a kick for
an RBI to put their first point on the board. In the second inning, Ballsagna
brought in another 2 runs and Fresh Kicks was able to answer and close the
inning 4-1. It then became a defensive game, with both teams allowing no runs
in the third. The fourth brought a different story. Ballsagna loaded the bases
and “Big Ben” Ferrara cleared the bases with an amazing Grand Slam that took
the wind out of the sails for Fresh Kicks. Unfortunately, Fresh Kicks was not
able to respond in their half of the inning, which closed out the fourth 8-1. The
ensuing innings were scoreless and clearly uneventful as no highlights were
recorded past the fourth. Ballsagna Wins 8-1.

Banzai Lightning
(Yellow) vs Hose Draggers (Red): It was the clash of the Red and Yellow! Yellow was a little
shorthanded today against a full-strength Hose Draggers. The first inning was a
real dog-and-pony show and both teams got on the board. Banzai Lightning put up
2 in the top of the inning and Hose Draggers came back at them, bringing 4 runs
in with the help of Chad Ferrier’s 2-run homer in the bottom of the first. Both
teams put another in the second and went all “D” in the third. In the
sixth, both Derek and Dave went wild with homers for Hose Draggers to end
the inning 10-3. Banzai’s Patrick responded in the top of the seventh with
a 3 run homer to keep make things interesting, but Hose Draggers put their foot
down and didn’t let them score again. Hose Draggers Wins 10-7.

Hose Draggers (Red)
vs. Fresh Kicks of Ball Air (Green): With Fresh Kicks coming in off a 10am loss and Hose Draggers
riding the victory wagon from their 10am win, this was sure to be an exciting
game. After Fresh Kicks won a hotly-contested chug off and took home field,
Hose Draggers was on a mission for redemption. In the first, Hose Draggers took
the plate and Chad Ferrier came out swinging with another first inning 2-run
homer. Fresh Kicks put up a pair themselves ending the inning 3-2. No one
scored again until the fifth with Derek Freeman getting another 2-run homer.
With these consistent home runs, looks like Derek and Chad need to renegotiate
their salaries! The scoring continued for Hose Draggers, but Fresh Kicks just
could not keep up. Coming into the seventh, Hose Draggers was up 6 to 4. In the
top of the seventh, Hose Draggers put up another 3 – this meant Fresh
Kicks needed 5 runs to tie and 6 runs to win. During the position change, a
member of Fresh Kicks yelled, “We only need 6 to win, come on guys that’s more
than we have scored all season!” Unfortunately, that didn’t create the rally
they needed. Hose Draggers wins 9-4.

Gone Rogue (Blue) vs.
Ballsagna (Light Blue): Ballsagna was feeling pretty confident after their 10am win over
Fresh Kicks, while Gone Rogue arrived well-rested and ready to roll. This may
have been one of the most defensive games ever played on this field, with both
teams holding the other to zip-zilch-nada in the first 3 innings. Shaun from
Gone Rogue had himself a great catch at home for the 2nd out on
the top of the first, denying Ballsagna first chance at scoring. In the top of
the third, Jared Hoistuff threw 8 pitches for a 3-up-3-down inning. Jeremy
Burke from Ballsagna had a diving catch in the bottom of the third to close out
the inning. It wasn’t till the top of the fourth that Gone Rogue put
2 on the board, then held their defensive stronghold in the bottom to keep
Ballsagna from scoring. Gone Rogue put up another in the fifth and, once again,
kept Ballsagna yearning for their top to pop and get something on the board. After
putting up another 2 runs in the sixth, Gone Rogue entered the seventh with the
end in sight. But just to make things interesting, Ballsagna scored 1, complete
with a hysterical cartwheel from Matt onto home plate to celebrate not allowing
the game to be a shut-out. Gone Rogue wins 5-1.
