Denver - Wednesday Week 5 - Highlights

Cuernavaca Park Field 1 (6pm)

Dice (Purple) VS. Cause We Ball So Hard (Black):
For our first game of the night we had Dice who just got back from their San Diego tournament. They sure came out swinging and in the 1st inning they got 4 runs across the plate with the help of Carey Kohout who had himself a nice triple 2 run RBI in the top of the inning. Dice then held Ball So Hard scoreless in the bottom of the inning and Ball So Hard returned the favor in the top of the 2nd.
Dice came back up to kick in the top of the 3rd & future Hall of Famer Daniel Linn, impressed the ladies with his huge boot by booming a 3-run HR.  Dice ended up bringing a total of 7 runs across the plate in the top of the 3rd, making their lead 11-0. Ball So Hard continued their pace and just said, "we got this," meaning their amazing Theme Week costumes! In the top of the 4th Brett Stanilka had himself a nice triple to third and Daniel Linn had a perfectly popped-up SAC fly to bring Brett home and add another run to their lead. Dice had come home from San Diego with a vengeance! Dice Wins 17-0.

Cuernavaca Park Field 2 (6pm)

Punani Patrol (Neon Pink) VS. Pitches Be Cray (Ash Grey):
Our second game of the night was a great game and we want to give a shout out to Jeff Cornetet from Punani for taking over the ref position due to the no call no show of Noodles who ended up being sick. Unfortunately we did not get any highlights for this game but we will give you the blow by blow. Both teams came out hot in the 1st and Punanin started off by getting a run across the plate in the top but Cray responded in the bottom by putting up 2 of their own. In the top of the 2nd Punani came back and scored 2 of their own to match the 2 runs scored by Cray in the bottom of the 1st and take the lead back. Cray didn’t score again in the bottom of the inning and then both teams turned up the “D” and went scoreless in the 3rd. It wasn’t until the top of the 4th that Punani scored again and ran 3 more across the plate and continued to hold Cray in the bottom. In the top of the 5th Punani started to run away with the game by brought home another 2 runs and Cray desperately needed to catch up to stay in the game and they responded with one of their own. In the top of the 6th Punani scored another 2 and it was starting to get out of reach for Cray who entered the bottom of the inning down 10-3. They came up to bat bottom and scored another 2 runs and that was all she wrote for Cray. Punani Wins 11-5.

Cuernavaca Park Field 3 (6pm)

Put It In The Bunt (Neon Orange) VS. Step Parents (Royal Blue):
In our third and final game of the night we had one team that just seemed to be full of errors and the other was on point. The Parents were off to a good start in the top of the 1st and scored 3 runs with the help of Jen Tvrdik who had the first RBI of the game. In the bottom of the inning Mike Koenck from Bunt responded with a RBI as well to show that the Parents they were not going to be rolled over in this game. Both teams turned up the “D” in the second and no one scored, and the scoring didn’t continue until the bottom of the 3 when Bunt turned on the “O” and brought home 5 runs to take the lead...now put that in your bunt!  Bunt then held the Parents in the top of the 4th and turned on the "O" again in the bottom of the inning by getting another 5 RBI’s to increase their lead 11-3.  Unfortunately for the Parents just couldn’t get it going again in the top of the 5th and when Bunt came up to bat Travis Deweesy helped by putting the final nail in the coffin with a 3-run homer. Put It In The Bunt Wins 14-3.
