Cuernavaca Park
Field 1 (10am)
Fresh Kicks of Ball Air (Navy) VS. Roshambo
(Lime):
Our first game of
this double header Sunday Funday was an exciting one but we were in for a long
day so energy was being conserved. Roshambo was up first to bat and Fresh had
ideas to hold them scoreless and that’s just what they did. When it was Fresh’s
turn to bat they made the most of it and Tori Leafblad helped out with a triple
to right field and their first RBI of the day in the bottom of the 1st.
They continued to put up another 3 runs in the inning before Roshambo finally
shut them down and ended the bleeding. Roshambo came back up to bat in the top
of the second and once again Fresh shut them down and didn’t allow a run to
score. In the bottom of the 2nd Fresh was at it again and brought
some players across the plate with the help of Brad Calloway who kicked a
double to right field and brought 2 players home. They scored 1 more run in the
bottom of the second to bring their lead to 7-0 and Roshambo came back up to
bet to get revenge and try and get on the board. Unfortunately for Roshambo
they were just not clicking today and Fresh shut them down again in the top of
the 3rd. In the bottom of the 3rd Brad Calloway came thru
again for Fresh with a Homer to right and brought in a runner on base to extend
their lead some more. The next 4 innings were heavy on the “D” and no one could
score and both teams decided to save any more runs for the second round of
games in this double header. Fresh Kicks of Ball Air Wins 9-0.

Gone Rogue (Royal Blue) VS. Hose Draggers
(Tennessee Orange):
Our second
game of the morning was intense as 2 of our best teams in this league went head
2 head. Both teams came out of the gate with some strong “D” and no one scored
in the first. The story of the “D” continued into the second and Hose held Gone
in the top of the second, then in the bottom of the second Hose put the first
run on the board but it wasn’t easy. Gone’s third baseman Jeremy Burke had an amazing
diving catch to hold Hose to just 1 run in the inning. Both teams again went
scoreless in the 3rd and it wasn’t untill the 4th things
on offense really got tunt up. Gone started off the top of the 4th
with 3 runs to take the lead and then in the bottom of the inning they held
Hose off and didn’t let them score. Gone came back up to bat in the top of the
5th and got another run across the plate to exted their lead and
held Hose again in the bottom and this trend continued in the 6th
until both teams were finally tired out and that was the end of the runs for
this game. Gone Rogue Wins 5-1.
Cuernavaca Park
Field 3 (10am)
Ballsagna (Neon
Orange) VS. Ballin (Purple): Our third game of
the morning was not so intense due to Ballin was not going to have enough
players this weekend to contend and decided to not show up and take the
forfeit. Ballsagna Wins 3-0.
Cuernavaca Park
Field 1 (11am)
Roshambo (Lime) VS. Balls and Dolls (Red):
Our first game of the 11 o’clock hour had a fresh team who hadn’t played
yet today in Balls and Dolls and a team who was just coming off a loss in the
first hour in Roshambo who wanted at least one “W” for the double header day.
Both teams started off hot and Roshambo came thru in the top of the first with
a run. In the bottom of the first Dolls came back and answered with 2 runs to
show the BO that they were here to play. Roshambo wasn’t going to lay down in
this game and they were all warmed up from the earlier game and in the top of
the second they showed it by bringing another 4 runs across the plate to take
back the lead. In the bottom of the second BO showed their “D” was on point by
shutting down the Dolls and holding them scoreless. The next couple of innings
both teams tuned up the “D” and no one scored until the bottom of the 5th
when Dolls finally broke the silence with a run to try and get back in this
game making it 5-3. BO came back up in the top of the 6th and
decided they needed to extend their lead to feel comfortable about winning this
game and that’s exactly what they did by slamming 2 more runs in. That was all
she wrote for this game and Roshambo had pulled it off. Roshambo Wins 7-3.

Field 2 (11am)
Booze on First (Cardinal
Red) VS. Gone Rogue (Royal Blue):
The second game of
the 11 o’clock hour was unfortunately a forfeit because Booze only had 5
players, so the 2 teams decided to play cup in hand for fun and they looked
like they had a blast. Gone Rogue Wins 3-0.
Cuernavaca Park
Field 3 (11am)
Ballsagna (Neon
Orange) VS. Untouchaballs (Dark Heather):
Our third
game of this hour was a close one and we would like to give a shout out to Untouchaballs
for showing up in full or a little less costume. In the top of the first
Ballsagna held Untouched scoreless and when it was Ballsagna’s turn to bat they
made the most of it and scored 2, but Untouched had some skills they wanted to
show off and Caitlin Whitham did just so when she was on first base and the
ball was kicked to her and while still in the air she kicked it back to the
pitch and he caught it for the final out of the inning. Both teams went
scoreless for the next couple of innings and it wasn’t until the bottom of the
third that Ballsagna broke the curse and Matt Peterson did it with a RBI
double. In the top of the 5th Tim Gilchrist broke the curse for
Untouched and brought their first run home with a RBI to get them on the board
and then they held Ballsagna scoreless in the bottom of the inning. In the top
of the 6th Untouched tied it up 3-3 after bringing 2 across the
plate and once again held Ballsagna scoreless in the bottom of the 6th
. It all came down to the 7th and Untouched was up first and needed
to score but Ballsagna had different ideas and shut them down, then it was
Ballsagna who needed the score in the bottom of the 7th and they did
what they needed to do. Ballsagna Wins 4-3.

Field 4 (11am)
Fresh Kicks of
Ball Air (Navy) VS. Pink Pussycats (Neon Pink):
Our final
game of the 11 o’clock hour was a fun one for both teams. Fresh kicks came
kickin right out of the gate and Brad Calloway was at it again when he started
on first and just kept running no matter what and ran home for their first of 2
scores in the inning. They held off the Pussycats for 3 innings and Tony
Domenico helped with a diving catch at 3rd to end the bottom of the
3rd. In the fourth the Pussycats finally got on the board and scored
1 after holding of Fresh in the top of the inning. In the top of the 5th
Fresh scored again extending their lead and in the bottom of the inning the
Pussycats would have answered and scored again if it wasn’t for Brad Calloway
having an amazing diving catch in center field to end the inning. Coming into
the 7th the score was 3-1 for and both teams needed some runs and
Fresh was up first and ran 2 across the plate so it was up to the Pussycats to
score 4 to tie and five to win in the bottom. Unfortunately they didn’t have it
in them and only got 1 and the game was over. Fresh Kicks of Ball Air Wins
5-2.
Cuernavaca Park Field 1 (12pm)
Pink Pussycats
(Neon Pink) VS. Balls and Dolls (Red):
Our first game of the 12 o’clock hour was a need to win for both teams
having come off a loss in the first round of this double header Sunday. Balls
started us off in the top of the 1st with 4 runs to show the
Pussycats they came to play this one and really didn’t want to lose. They held
off the Pussycats in the bottom of the inning and came back up in the top of
the 2nd and did it again by bringing home another 3 runs to extend
their lead to 7-0. The Pussycats were just not ready today and went scoreless
for the first 6 innings and the Dolls just kept adding to their scores. In the
3rd Dolls scored another 4 in the 6th they scored again
and in the 7th they added 2 more bringing the score to 14-0. It
wasn’t until the bottom of the 7th Pussycats were down 14-0 that
they finally got it together and brought one home so not to get shut out for
the game. Balls and Dolls Wins 14-1.

Field 2 (12pm)
Booze on First (Cardinal
Red) VS. Untouchaballs (Dark Heather):
Our
second game of the 12 o’clock hour almost didn’t happen because of the shortage
of players on Booze but they got thrifty and decided to recruit some of the
Gone Rogue players from the Cup in Hand game they had just played against them
in. Both teams went scoreless in the first but it was a different story in the
2nd. Untouched held Booze scoreless in the top but when they came up
to bat the came to play. Corey Hansen boomed a 3 run Homer for Untouched to get
them on the board and take the lead 3-0. In the top of the 3rd
Untouched shut down Booze again with the help of their catcher Nick Schnurr who
caught fouls balls in a row to end the inning. In the top of the 5th
Booze finally scored with back to back triples and two RBI’s to bring the score
to 3-2. Booze scored again in the top of the 6th to tie up the game
but when Untouched came back up in the bottom they were not going to let that
stand and brought 2 across the plate to take back the lead. Booze had an answer
for that and in the top of the second they matched and scored 2 more to tie the
game back up again 5-5 and Untouched couldn’t do anything as far as scoring
went in the bottom so this game went into overtime. In the top of the 8th
Booze needed to score and Untouched just wouldn’t let them so it was up to
Untouched to score in the bottom and they only needed 1 to end the game. With 1
out and a man on third they went for the SAC fly and tag up scenario and it
worked. Untouchaballs Wins 6-5.
Cuernavaca Park
Field 3 (12pm)
Ballin (Purple)
VS. Hose Draggers (Tennessee Orange):
Our final
game of the day was disappointing to say the least. Hose had their first game
in the 10 o’clock hour and had overheard that Ballin had decided to go to
Mona’s Restaurant instead of playing today so Hose had already took off for the
day except for the lone pitcher who stuck around to have someone there to claim
the “W”. Hose Draggers Wins 3-0.
