Little Lebowski Urban Achievers (Sport
Grey) vs. Kick It To the Limit (White): With both teams looking to bounce back from losses
last week, only one team could come out on top! The scoring came early and
often through two innings, but then free agent pick up Shane Ishmael and Little
Lebowski really turned up the defense. In particular, Ishmael’s awesome diving
catch on a popfly in the top of the 4th inning really motivated his
team to rise to his level. Little Lebowski Urban Achievers’ captain, Chad
Cheshire, commented after the game, “We really focused on our mental fortitude
this past week in practice. Not only just offense and defense, but those long
meditation sessions definitely helped us concentrate on our ultimate
goal—winning the game.” Little Lebowski
Urban Achievers wins 9-4.

Saved By The Balls (Lime) vs. vs. Kickin Grass and Takin Names (Purple):
We had a one heck of a back and forth game
this week on Field 2. It started when Kickin Grass and Takin Names stole a run
in the top of the 2nd to give them an early 1-0 lead. They were
threatening again in the 3rd but Zach “Catch ‘em All” Koch made a
diving catch at the hot corner, that is so aptly named!!! Following this
defensive gem, Saved By The Balls cashed in a run of their own in the bottom of
the 3rd only for their opponents to answer with a 2 run 4th!
Things couldn’t have been any tighter. In the end, it came down to the bottom
of the 7th. With Saved By The Balls down 3-2, their legs were
working as they stormed back scoring 2 runs in the last inning and ending with
a walk off base hit! Captain Jonathon Beening said after the game, “A little
inspiration can go a long way in this sport. We got some runners on and made
them count!” Saved By The Balls wins
4-3.
City Park Field 3
(6pm)
Merican
Made (Red) vs. high rollers (Ash Grey):
Our game of the week featuring the
defending champions did not disappoint! The ever dangerous High Rollers’
pitcher Matt “opposite of night” Dea was not only getting it done on the mound,
but also with his defensive prowess and diving efforts on the field! In a close
battle, Merican Made had ducks on the pond in the bottom of the 4th
when a ball was booted sky high and sure to score some runs when center
fielder, Tiddy “the titan” Hottovy comes flying in to make a saving catch to
get the rollers out of a jam!!! After Merican Made scored in the bottom of the
6th to tie the game at 2, Merican Made first baseman Allen Stefanik
showed us his ability to perform a split and catch the ball that got everyone
excited for the upcoming Olympics! (See Here) Following a scoreless 7th, this one
was going into EXTRA INNINGS!!! The High Rollers jumped on the board for 2 in
the top of the 8th, but it was the game saving throw from the
outfield by Mike Hallczuk to keep Merican Made from scoring and ending the game!
High Rollers win 4-2.
City Park Field 4
(6pm)
Oilers (Violet) vs. Where My
Pitches At (Neon Orange):
The Oilers were back in action this week, led by the ever-dangerous
Captain Paul Schwarz. The Oilers did not shy away from putting runs on the
board. After scoring 4 in the first inning, the Oilers managed to score an
additional 12 more throughout the game!!! But they made it count on the
defensive side and some standout pitching by not allowing a single run to be
scored on them! Oilers win 16-0.
City Park
Field 1 (7pm)
Florida Mike and the Free Ballers (Texas
Orange) vs. Kick Balls and Kick Grass (Tennessee Orange): This game was a tight one!! Florida Mike and the Free
Ballers jumped out to the lead in the top of the 1st inning, then
held on for dear life through 6thin innings… Vince Leone (another free agent
pick up) had a thrilling diving catch in the bottom of the 4th
inning to ensure that Kick Balls and Kick Grass stayed off the scoreboard (See the highlight here!). However, finally in the bottom of the 6th,
Kick Balls and Kick Grass was able to tie it up 2-2! Then Florida Mike and the
Free Ballers rose to the occasion and scored three runs in the top of the 7th
to keep the game out of reach… Florida
Mike and the Free Ballers win 5-3.
City Park Field 2
(7pm)
Kickass Data Nerds (Charcoal) vs.
Kicktease (Neon Yellow): In a match up of veterans versus newbies, who would
come out on top???!!! The newbies on Kickass Data Nerds started things off
right with a three run top of the 1st inning. But then Kicktease
turned up the defense with Matthew “Keepin it Clutch” Cetuk getting all three
outs on his own in the bottom of the 2nd, including a diving double
play. Chad “The Ball Cleaver” Cox from Kickass Data Nerds couldn’t be contained
though, and in the bottom of the 3rd inning he would notch another
home run, thereby giving his team a 5-0 lead. Those Kickass Data Nerds must be
onto something with those pinwheel hats… Kickass Data Nerds win 7-2.
City Park Field 3
(7pm)
Ballz N Dollz (Tropical Blue) vs. A
Swift Kick in the Grass (Irish Green):
This matchup had a lot of runs in the early going of the game. The
Swift Kickers jumped out to an early 2-0 lead but it was matched by Ballz N
Dollz in the bottom half of the 1st. Ballz N Dollz could have had an
even bigger inning were it not for a spectacular diving catch deep in left
field by Gold Glove winner John Glaser!!! Swift Kickers’ Kelly “big kick” Boyd
showed her defensive abilities in the bottom of the 4th when she
made all 3 catches for outs to end the side! In the end, it was Ballz N Dollz
that got an early lead and kept it behind the great pitching by Bri Beans! Ballz N Dollz win 7-4.
City Park Field 4
(7pm)
Balls Deep (Navy) vs. Really Really
RiKICKulously Good Looking (Carolina Blue): Balls Deep has been so close, yet so far, this season from the winner’s
circle… Could they pull through in this contest of equally matched foes?!!? A
triple play in the bottom of the 4th inning by Balls Deep certainly
helped their cause. (See the highlight here!) But
seven innings came and went, and there still wasn’t a winner with the game tied
at 6-6, so to extra innings we went!!! Finally, in the top of the 9th,
Really Really RiKICKulously Good Looking really really crushed the spirits of
Balls Deep with a six run inning… You could see the looks of devastation on the
faces of the Balls Deep squad. Kickball aficionado, Steph Curry of the Golden
State Warriors, said after the game, “I really do feel for Balls Deep. All
their games have been close this season… They have been right on the cusp of
greatness, and they let it slip through their fingers, just like someone else I
know… Poor Klay Thompson…” Really Really
RiKICKulously Good looking wins 12-6.
