Fresh Kicks of Ball
Air (black) vs Bazinga (red):
In
the only matchup that finished before the storms swept everyone off the fields,
FKOBA proved that they can contend against the league’s best. Bazinga got
things started in the bottom of the 1st, after a Nate Kischer leadoff bunt
single. Matt Howes brought him home on a sac fly, but the FKOBA defense was
able to hold Bazinga to just the one run after Bazinga left the bases loaded to
end the inning. In the bottom of the 2nd, Joshua Smith scored on a single by
Erik Blessman to take a slim 2-0 lead. FKOBA got some runners on 2nd and 3rd
base in the 5th, but a kick to left field by Shane Martin got the runner out at
3rd base for the 3rd out. Still 2-0 in the top of the 6th, Ryan Piper got a
1-out single and would attempt to score on a Wilfred Vincent boot the outfield,
but the Bazinga outfield was able to get the ball in quickly, and Keith Hausam
pegged him out as he dove head first into home plate, preserving the shut-out
win.
Final Score: Bazinga
2, Fresh Kicks of Ball Air 0
