Wednesday Cuernavaca - Week 4 - Highlights

Cuernavaca Field 2 6PM

Punani Patrol (Neon Pink) vs. Isotopes (Maroon): 

For our second game of the night we had a real battle with our 2 undefeated teams in this league going head to head. First up in the top of the inning we had the Patrol start us off and none other than the Team Captain Jeff Cornetet was the first to put some points on the board. He kicked a booming 2 run Homer to take the lead and that was all the Isotopes were going to let them score in this half. When the Isotopes came up in the bottom of the inning they answered back with a 2 run homer of their own from Nick Hunt. In the top of the second the Patrol took the lead again with a RBI singles from Andrew Rohr and Natalie D’Adamio. The Patrol then shut down the Isotopes in the bottom and Isotopes returned the favor in the top of the third with a shut out of the Patrol. In the bottom of the third the scoring started up again and the Isotopes brought 2 home and 1 was from a RBI single from Cameron Cox. The Patrol took back the lead in the top of the forth by adding 1 run to the score board and it stayed 5-4 until the bottom of 5 when the Isotopes had a perfectly placed 2 run SAC fly. The Patrol wasn’t going down without a fight and in the top of the 6^th Jeff came back up and started a 3-run scoring run with a RBI single which was followed by a 2 run double to take back the lead. That was all she wrote for the scoring in this shoot out and the defense really stepped up for the rest of the game and closed us out. Punani Patrol Wins 8-7.

Cuernavaca Field 3 6PM

Step Parents (Royal Blue) vs. Put it in the Bunt (Neon Yellow):

Our final game of the night was a lot of fun to watch and was a good match up of our 3^rd and 4^th place teams in this league. Step put the first on the board in the top of the 1^st and then held PIITB scoreless in the bottom of the inning. The second inning went to Bunt who first held the Parents scoreless in the top of the inning and then in the bottom Kyle Scanlon kicked a SAC fly RBI to bring Larissa Lindberg home. In the top of the 3^rd Nathaniel Perkowski kicked a solo home run for the Parents to take back the lead and in the bottom the Parents turned back on the “D” and held Bunt scoreless. Jeremy Wagner kicked a RBI SAC fly to center in the top of the fourth to bring home Conner Morrison for the Parents and extend the lead. Then Nathaniel Perkowski copied him with a RBI SAC fly to center to bring home Adam Logan. In the 5^th both teams add to the board with Step adding 3 more runs in the top and Bunt adding another run in the bottom to help keep it close. In the top of the 5^th Step started pulling away after Dominique Hubert loaded the bases and Chris Loupee kicks a RBI SAC fly to center. Sarah Satrom added to their runs as well in the 5^th with a 2RBI SAC fly to right field. In the top of the 6^th Dominique Hubert did it again with a 2 run RBI to right field to extend the lead even more. Coming into the 7^th Bunt was down 10-2 and needed to hold off the Parents in the top of the inning but Jeremy Wagner was at it again and pulled off a great RBI single and Jennifer Tvrdik joined the RBI club right after that. In the bottom of the inning Bunt needed some runs but Step was not going to allow it and held them scoreless to end the game. Step Parents Wins 12-2.
