Colorado Springs - Week 3 - Highlights

Gold Ballerz (gold) vs. Booze on First (royal blue):
Both teams came into this game looking for their first win of the season, and it would take all 7 innings to decide this one. Gold Ballerz got the action started in the top of the 1st on an RBI double by Zack Luczejko, scoring Ryan McDaniel on the play. Booze on First would answer in the bottom half, thanks to a sac-fly by Laura Locke and an RBI single by Meghan Sanders to give Booze on First the early 2-1 lead. Down 3-2 in the 4th, Gold Ballerz’ Ryan McDaniel knocked an RBI double to the outfield, scoring Logan Stambaugh to tie the game at 3. Still tied in the 7th inning, Ryan McDaniel led off with a single, but would get picked off at 3rd base when he attempted to tag up from 1st base on an outfield fly-out. Booze on First would back up their defensive efforts in the bottom of the 7th when Marc O’Meara slammed the ball to the outfield fences and quickly rounded all the bases, getting the dramatic walk-off win. He was immediately doused with the cooler of Gatorade, and carried off the field… only to return 2 minutes later for the second game of their doubleheader.
Final Score: Booze on First 4, Gold Ballerz 3

All My Pitches Love Me (sapphire blue) vs. Booze on First (royal blue):
Despite opening night of the NFL season being in Broncos country, these teams still showed up with their game faces ready to bash some big red balls. Beau Kelly started off the scoring for AMPLM in the 2nd inning with a solo jack over the right fielder’s head. Deja vu! In the 4th, AMPLM busted open their offense; after lead off singles by Alex Koehler and Eric Hopfenbeck, Beau Kelly knocked them both home with another huge kick to the outfield for a stand-up triple. Joe Karlik and Morgan Kelly also scored a couple more runs with a pair of RBI singles to make it 5-0. Booze on First struggled to get their offense going, only getting 7 total runners on base during the entire game. One of those baserunners came in the 6th; after a 1-out double by Shanna O’Meara, Jessica Mogge was able to score her on a fielder’s choice ground-out. Both teams went quiet in the 7th, perhaps eager to finish the game and watch the Broncos pull off the close comeback win against the Panthers.
Final Score: All My Pitches Love Me 5, Booze on First 1

Fresh Kicks of Ball Air (black) vs. Bazinga (red):
